Terence and I are thinking of doing the Mediterranean diet. Have any of you all tried it? We have GOT to lose some weight, we’ve been pretty good at exercising, but as far as eating not so good. I struggle every day with what to cook and eat. Most of the time it’s things that are really quick and easy….and not so healthy : /
I don’t want to go out and buy a whole new wardrobe. I’ve got to kick myself into gear because I’m tired of feeling like a lumpy frumpy Momma.
I know I’ll never be my 18 year old self again….
But I don’t want to turn into this either….
SOME METHODS I’M CONSIDERING :
Jillian Michael’s recipe for losing 5 pounds in 7 days
Get 60 ounces of distilled or pure water and…
Add a tablespoon of sugar free cranberry juice and…
Add 1 dandelion root tea bag and…
Add 2 tablespoons of lemon juice and…
You Drink the 60 ounces every day for 7 days and…
This recipe works because it helps flush out excess water weight you have carrying around in your body and… You could lose more than 5 pounds in 7 days depending on how much excess water weight you’re carrying around.
MEDITERRANEAN GUIDELINES :
A great resource I found for the Mediterranean diet is a site HERE
It is the hardest thing ever but the results are always worth the hard work. I’ve been using MyFitnessPal and tracking calories since March and have lost about 40 lbs just doing that alone. I highly recommend it.
i loved that witch movie as a kid / teenager growing up. HOCUS POCUS 🙂
I’m trying to lose weight myself and am struggling on what will work for me. Thanks for all these tips though 🙂
I started the couch to 5k workout plan… if you want to look it up. I’d only be about 2 workouts ahead…so let me know if you’re interested. Katie_Waters and I are supporting each other on twitter with it – and Niki is our coach.
I am a member of weight watchers and it works for me (when I stick to it). My biggest thing is tracking what I eat. If I do that then I am fine, but if not, all hell breaks loose no matter how much exercise I do.
Good luck! it’s tough, but you can do it.
I’ve done weight watchers since January. I started the couch to 5k program in June. I’ve run one 5k and am signed up to do 4 more this year. Eek! So far I’ve lost 46 pounds, but have a bit (well, quite a bit) more to go. It hasn’t been easy the whole time, but I’m just trying to stick with it!
I lost a lot of weight a few years ago. I didn’t follow any diet…just exercised and cut my portions. Some people can really follow a diet and get results but I am not one of those people. Good luck with whatever you choose!
Here is what I have learned over the years…..Diets NEVER work!! They are temporary quick fixes to a life long change that needs to be made. Take the “t” off of the word diet and you will see why! Exercise & cutting portions is the best way to go! You won’t feel deprived of anything which will help TONS!!! My hubby lost 60 lbs by doing that and he says it was easier than anything he has ever done!!!!!
I did the DUKAN diet for two weeks and I lost 6 lbs. in that amount of time. I really kept up with it the first two weeks. I just limited carbs and junk food the next two weeks (total of 4 weeks) and I lost 10 lbs. I still have at least 15-20 to go until I reach my goal. Dieting is changing your lifestyle. It is a MUST to achieve weight loss and keep the weight off. I suggest being more mindful of what, when, and WHY you eat. Trust me girl….I’m a stress eater…..and it’s hard not to fall into that hole sometimes because stress is simply unbearable at times. You can do it!!!!! I know you can! The Dukan diet is a very easy diet to follow I got the guidelines online, but there is a book you can buy as well.
Never commented before, but saw your blog through your sisters. I have a 20 month old son, so I relate to you two well 🙂
I’ve struggled big time w/ my weight forever, especially after having Sam. Over the last year, I’ve slowly changed my eating habits and now it’s a lifestyle change and way of living for me. I’m more mindful of what I eat, but I DO NOT count calories, as that totally does not work for this lady!
Have you ever seen or read anything on Marksdailyapple.com? I thought it was crazy at first, but the more you research and begin to really think about what you eat and what people were eating hundreds of years ago, it makes total sense. My husband turned me onto it and I’m hooked and our son eats along these lines-although more kid friendly.
Gluten and starchy foods always made me feel heavy and tired and quite honestly, sick! I didn’t know why I was always feeling like this because I was exercising and counting calories and eating “whole grains” That was the opposite of what I should be doing. Also, the way he designs or suggests you workout would totally fit your busy lifestyle, seems perfect for you.
You do have to commit to changing what you eat, but you DO not have skimp on portions or count calories. You do have to be mindful of what you put in your body and how you feel.
Anyway, I could go on. I’m just a stay at home mom who chases around Sam all day and decided to change my eating habits for the better.
Feel free to email me anytime if you want more into.
