Fabulous Friday

I’m in full blown party planning mode right now for this little dude’s 2nd birthday.  Between the party and our upcoming trip, work, and day to day stuff it doesn’t leave much time!!!

We got his birthday shirt in the mail yesterday.  Mary Kate did a fabulous job!  I have several friends that do monogramming and I like to support all of them 🙂

I’m really enjoying wearing scarves this winter….it’s hard for me to even say winter.  What winter???  We haven’t had one!  And thanks to several Pinterest tutorials I’ve discovered how to wear them several ways.

I received my first My Glam Bag.  I liked it a lot.  I don’t think it has as many name brand products as Birchbox has, but I really liked it this month!  The cute little heart bag was perfect for February and my favorite item was the sparkle shadow.

So excited about the three day weekend ahead…..I need it so badly!

Hope you all have a good one!
xoxo Becky

Favorite Products of the Week

Okay I have LOTS of favorites every week!
It’s hard to narrow it down because I like so many things 🙂

I love Milo Paper.  They make the most adorable family calendars.  You can get a weekly or monthly one.  All you need is a dry erase marker and it’s easy to clean and stick on your fridge.  Lord knows I need some organization in my life.  I love the style and color I picked out…. GREEN!

She also designs the cutest stationary as well.  Check out Connor’s cards :

I saw this at the grocery store the other day.  I just about fell over.  DARK CHOCOLATE MOCHA WHIPPED CREAM???  It’s from a company called Blosm and they have several other flavors as well.

My favorite nail polish all fall and winter is this $1.99 NYC gray.  It will work great for spring/summer as well and it was so cheap and doesn’t chip!  Sometimes cheaper is better!

And last but not least my head is spinning with ideas for this kiddo’s 2nd birthday party coming up.  It’s my one time a year to party plan and let my creative juices flow!  Since he’ll probably be my only baby boo I’m trying to convince Daddy that its worth every penny and we should celebrate his birthday the best we can….yes we have a budget, but thanks to Pinterest I’ve been going a little CRAZY! Ha ha!

I plan on making his cake and doing most of the decor myself.  So hopefully I can get it all done for around $100-$200 and we are not going to have food this year.  Just cake/hot chocolate bar/ and favors 🙂

The hot chocolate bar will be for these bad boys:
I was thinking of letting the kids fill a bag with cocoa and all the toppings then taking it home.  Or should I just let them drink it and top it off there?  Thoughts???

Lots of Stuff

Well yesterday was pretty much the worst Valentines day….

  • Connor threw up yesterday morning from congestion a few times…like I said…on the carpet
  • I got a speeding ticket on my way to work in a school zone. (To my defense I WAS NOT IN THE SCHOOL ZONE YET…I drove by again this morning just to double check and I wasn’t in the school zone….)  I was going 35.  Coming down a hill and yes, I would have slowed down in the school zone.  When the officer pulled me over I counted not one, but three motorcycles in front of us with cars pulled over!!!  AND-he did a freaking U-turn in the middle of traffic going the opposite direction just to pull me over??? Is that even legal?  Of course I cried like a baby…what the heck is wrong with me???  There are worse things in life…..
  • Connor and Terence are both sickies.  I swear I watched Terence go through an entire box of tissues on the sofa last night.
  • We were supposed to meet with our attorney yesterday to finalize our will.  I left work early only to get caught up in traffic on the freeway for 45 minutes due to an accidents and two lanes being closed down…we missed our appointment and now have to reschedule.
On a brighter note.  We switched cable companies and are getting three months of free premium channels.  We started watching Homeland last night and I LOVE IT.  I don’t miss Jack Bauer and 24 so much now???
In other news:
Thank you for all the compliments on my top yesterday.  I ordered it from a store called Tobi.  When I ordered it was 30% off.  I absolutely love it!  On the website it’s classified as a “dress”.  Ahhaaaahhh!!! Well it is a dress if you weigh 90 pounds…but as you can see on me it’s a shirt.  I have a size large & wore it sort of bloused over and it works just fine for me 😉  I think it runs small though…..
NOPE:
My sunshine at the end of each day….
I made my Valentines a heart pizza last night….
I have a prayer request.  My cousin Adam pictured below with his beautiful baby girl Claire.
Cassidy, his wife delivered the baby and had a amniotic fluid embolism.  I believe she has been in a coma…that’s the last I heard.  I think she is improving but has a long road ahead.  This condition is very rare and can be fatal.  I can’t imagine giving birth to my child and never waking up to hold them or see their face.  Please pray for healing and strength for the family right now.  I know prayer works wonders!!!
My heart is just aching for them…..

Also- My sister in law Kim wrote a book called “Hopper the Lonely Frog” and it’s available for FREE download right now on Amazon!!!  I’m so proud of her 🙂

It’s a great book for children and I’m sure she would be thrilled if you read her first book!

About the book:

Hopper The Lonely Frog: An Adoption Story For Children is a tender story, aimed at very young children. Hopper is a young, orphaned frog that wishes to find a mother, but he feels he doesn’t “fit in” anywhere. The reader will sympathize as Hopper searches for a place to belong, and will rejoice when in the end he finds acceptance in an unlikely character. This story would be a great tool for parents to share with their adopted children, or any child, in order to promote discussion and acceptance in families that may have unique dynamics. Now with illustrations.

Hope you all have a great day!
It’s gotta be better than yesterday………ha ha!

Happy Valentines Day!

I made these naughties last night:

All you need are square pretzels, Hugs kisses, and M&Ms

Heat your oven to 200 degrees and melt for 2-3 minutes

Top with an M&M

Opening Valentines cards from Nana & Poppy

Can you see my card on the end?  My Mom & Dad know me well 🙂

Connor kissing Elmo….ha ha!!!

Hope you all have a great Valentines day!

We are planning a low key night at home and I am going to make my boys dinner.  I still haven’t watched Smash from last night either.  We had a rough morning.  Everyone has been stopped up and Connor threw up a few times on my carpet….it’s always on the carpet.  Sigh……

Anyone have a go to carpet cleaning recipe for milk on carpet???

I hope you all have a great LOVE day and tell those near and dear how much you care about them <3
xoxo Becky

Did you know I met my hubby online???
I did, 12 years ago.
And did you know it’s becoming more and more common for people to meet online? Whether it’s due to busy work schedules or maybe having a hard time finding someone with the same interests.
Finding someone online can be fun because it takes away the surprises you would have in a blind date. It’s almost like you’re interviewing the person before you meet in real life. I’m sure a lot of you have heard of eHarmony. It’s one of the top dating sites on the web right now. While I did not meet my husband on that particular site, I know a few folks who did and have had great success!
My friend Amber met her future husband a few years ago through eHarmony. They now have two boys and are happily married! I talked to Amber a little bit about her experience with eHarmony, and this is what she told me:
Q: What made you choose eHarmony over other dating sites?
A: I didn’t really want to sign up, but after a few friends encouraged me I decided to give it a try. I liked the idea of being able to preview people and pick and choose guys by interests. I also felt like eHarmony had a good success rate with matching people up.

Q: What was your first date like?

A: He was one of the first matches I had on the site. We knew it was “it” from the minute we met. He picked me up at the end of my dad’s driveway, and we went to dinner. We sat on the patio and had a nice seafood dinner while the band played, and I did my best to keep the conversation going as he was super shy. We continued our date by hitting up the bowling alley before moving on to a pool hall. We ended up back at my dad’s house to sit at the bar and have cereal at midnight. We spent the next few hours just talking and enjoying each other’s company. The next day we went on another date, and I made the first move by kissing him, and the rest is history.
Q: How did you know he was “The One”?
A: He came over after work on our third date, and I told him I didn’t want him to leave. And he never left!
So as you can see, meeting a guy online is not as scary as it sounds. There are actually some really great people out there! They are probably having just as hard a time finding the right girl. eHarmony helps move the process along by matching you up with the perfect mate! All you have to do is fill out your profile and answer some questions about yourself. I bet you’ll be surprised at the responses you get from some really nice people.
When I first told people I met my husband online I have to tell you I was a bit embarrassed. I thought people would think that was crazy! As it turns out a lot of my friends have met their spouses online, and it’s very common. It’s becoming harder and harder to meet people face to face with our busy lifestyles. eHarmony does all the leg work for you so all you have to do is sign up and wait for a response. You’ll never know if you don’t give it a shot! Your true love could be out there, just waiting.

Celtic Women Giveaway!

You may remember awhile back I was joking about my husband and his love for the Celtic Women.  He even had me go look up concert dates online.  We were watching them one evening and it has to be one of the most beautiful ensembles I’ve ever heard.  These women have such wonderful harmony together.  I can hardly watch them without wanting to get up in the living room and dance around! ha ha!  Seriously I love it!

Celtic Woman just released their new project, Believe, an enchanting studio album and companion live concert DVD!

If you’re not familiar with them, Celtic Woman is an all-female singing group featuring vocalists Chloë Agnew, Lisa Kelly, Lisa Lambe and Celtic violinist Máiréad Nesbitt. They perform classic Irish songs (“Green Grow the Rushes”), timeless pop anthems (“Bridge Over Troubled Water”), and inspirational songs (“Ave Maria”) with their signature Celtic Woman twist. The live concert DVD was filmed for the first time in America in front of some of their most loyal fans during two sold-out nights at The Fox Theatre in Atlanta, GA this past September.

Below is a streaming song from the CD, as well as a trailer for the DVD

Tonight I’m giving away one signed copy of the CD and one signed copy of the DVD.

&

A copy of Breaking Dawn on Blue Ray 🙂

Thank you baby I love you!!!

These are Connor’s 2012 Valentines Day cards…I’m hopefully going to get them in the mail today.  FAIL.
I’m so behind these days…..They are from Tiny Prints & they always do a great job!

We met up with my good friend Karen and her two kiddos at the mall on Saturday.  It was so good to see her because we don’t get together often enough.  With all our kiddos now it’s hard to wrangle everyone!  But she understands my crazy self and I love her 🙂

We’ll have to get together again before the kids hit highschool Karen <3 (I should have got a pic of you for my Starbucks wall…she had a Starbucks in hand when she got to the mall! ha ha!)

I found these cute little Valentine’s day items:

  • This doggy for Connor from JellyCat.  It’s SOOOOOO soft!
  • Kinder chocolate=Heaven
  • I love these napkins with the banners on them.  I will probably use them for Connor’s party

Hope ya’ll had a great weekend too!!!

It’s pretty cold here today so we are all bundled up and I wish I was in bed under the covers…..

Alas I am not and I’m sitting here at work sipping my coffee!

Another day of life….enjoy it and make the most of it 🙂
