An Arkansas Christmas 2013

Last week Connor and I headed to Arkansas for an early Christmas with my Mom, Dad, sister, Nannie, and many family & friends.  Connor did great on the drive, he’s such a good little guy 🙂

We are so blessed to have the most beautiful place on Earth (in my opinion) to spend Christmas at.  Nannie and Papa’s farm will always hold a special place in our hearts.  So many memories over my lifetime were spent there and I hope Connor has the same wonderful memories.

It’s hard living away from your family and friends, but that just makes the times you do get together extra special.  Bonnie and I went out to dinner one night with our good friends from highschool.  Mom, Bonnie, and I spent a few girls days together shopping.  Then we headed to the farm for Christmas celebrations & Jarrett’s 4th birthday.

So, here are some pictures from the trip…there are lots…but I’d rather have too many than too little!

We’ve had a bout of sickness in our house.  Yesterday we were stuck in the house all day and Connor didn’t even want to open his presents poor little guy.  He’s been running a high fever and feeling awful.  I’ll recap on all that later….Hope you all had the best Christmas!!!  xoxo Becky

Home Again…Home Again…

I’m having a great visit in Arkansas with family right now!  So good to see my Mom, Dad, and sister.  Today we are headed to the farm to celebrate Christmas with Nannie.  I am watching Connor and Jarrett right now and they  just adore each other…then they fight.  But mostly they adore each other 😉

Y’all can follow on Instagram if you want to stay in touch during our trip!!!! xoxo Becky

Breakfast With Santa

A couple of weeks ago Connor and I headed to North East Mall to have breakfast with Santa. All the kids dress in their pajamas and get to walk through the mall and wake up Santa sleeping in his bed. It was so much fun and we’ll definitely be going back next year.

All the kiddos got a bag full of arts and crafts to do and a Chick-Fil-A breakfast was served.  There were lots of coupons in the goody bags for Moms too 🙂

This was so cute with the Christmas lights on it.D7K_1671 Then Connor got to tell Santa his LOOOOOOOONG list of things he wants for Christmas! He was so excited! And kind of celebrity shocked. If you live in the DFW area I highly recommend Breakfast with Santa at North East Mall! Remember this for next year and continue to check out all the fun kids activities in the Kidgits program at North East Mall.D7K_1614

Let it ICE

D7K_2418D7K_2445 The last couple of days being stuck inside the house have been driving us all nuts.  Last night we may have taken a Rubbermaid container and let Connor slide down a hill in it.  That’s not a safety hazard is it?  We didn’t have a sled, but it ended up working out great 🙂  I didn’t feel so bad after I saw the other kids all sledding in laundry baskets last night.  The things you do for your kids!D7K_2430 Connor’s been enjoying his first snow ice that he can remember.  We have tickets to the North Pole Express this afternoon and I’m just hoping they aren’t cancelled.  He’s been so excited to go on the train all week.D7K_2436 D7K_2438 We also made our first gingerbread house.  That was a lot of fun.  I’m really enjoying this age Connor’s at right now.  It’s so magical and his imagination cracks me up.  D7K_2450 D7K_2452 We put up our nativity too!

What have y’all been up to in this crazy weather?

Every Kiss Begins with KAY….Yeah Right!

Every year around the Christmas season they come out with all the lovely holiday commercials.  Some are sweet, others just make me want to switch channels and barf.

One of the commercials Terence and I always joke about are the KAY commercials.  He looks at me with a HUGE eyeball roll and says “Does anyone really do that?”  Ha ha!!!  I just laugh it off…but you know every girl in America is hoping for that “KAY moment”.  It ain’t gonna happen sweetheart.  Not unless you have an overly sappy guy.  Or at least it won’t happen like the commercials.

So here’s my little spoof of KAY & probably what every dude is really thinking….

That’s right dream on homeboy 165564616_640Yeah…they must have been dating for a whole month165565382_640That’s right kids.  You’re my witnesses.  I really DO nice things for your Mom…now go tell her parents….mmmmkay?418753039_640

So, yeah I’m probably a little skeptic.  Does anyone really have these “KAY moments” or is it just a marketing scheme to disappoint every woman in the universe that instead of a pretty necklace or a set of sparkly earrings they are really going to get a new vacuum or an HD television for the whole family.  Yeah….dream on home girl.  Dream on…..

Connor’s School Christmas Program 2013

We are so thankful that Connor has such a great school to go to while we work. They love him so much and we love them! They put together a precious Christmas program for all the parents and families last night. There’s nothing cuter in the world that watching little kids sing Christmas songs.
