Oh Christmas Cards! Oh Christmas Cards!

One of my favorite things about the Christmas season is getting cards in the mail.  I love to see how people have changed and how all the kids have grown.  I always save the cards in a book and look back through them each year.  I actually look forward to getting mail and opening up the beautiful cards with photos.

One of my favorite places to get Christmas cards is Minted.  If you haven’t heard of Minted head over there ASAP!  They have a ton of card designs, so many it’s hard to choose just one!

I can’t wait to send our cards out this year.  I was looking through Minted and wanted to share with you some of my favorite designs.

The foil cards are my favorite.  The shimmer is so pretty!

Minted also has cards that you can put on the tree as an ornament.

Have fun designing and creating your perfect card at MINTED!

Christmas Coffee Favorites

I had yesterday off and I got up early and dropped Connor off at school ( Oh yes I did…because I’m paying for it anyway!)  Then I came home and started to watch TV and felt so unproductive.  So I decided I’d haul out ALL our Christmas stuff from the attic (after Terence told me to wait until after Thanksgiving), but I thought he would appreciate my effort to get everything done while I was home with no distractions.  BAM!

Got it all done yesterday.  My Christmas décor is up and I am HAPPY!  My back and arms are incredibly sore from hauling boxes from the attic.  Totally worth it though…it’s not so much the Christmas décor I love.  It’s the tree and the lights at night.  I just love the warm glow it gives in the house.

So, yay for a short week and having all my Christmas stuff DONE!  I walked into Starbucks this morning and was overtaken by the new array of gift cards they offer.  The art on these little cards is amazing yuns.  I had to stand there and take them all in…

After I absorbed all the cards then I bought my annual Starbucks cup ornaments this year.  I also tried the new chestnut latte and it’s actually not too bad!!!

My BFF Sarah….who you see here as we are devouring Sprinkles Sundaes last week…

Friday Favorites: November Edition

Here we go!  It’s Friday and I’m linking up with some of my favorite bloggers!

I got some new glasses from Firmoo. This is the second time I’ve had glasses from them and every time I love them and they are unbeatable prices! I think these were under $40 bucks. You just type in your prescription and then you can try on any pair of glasses using the virtual feature that lets you add them to your photo.  Right now Firmoo has a Veterans Day sale going on and you can get 20% off any pair with code: VDS20

On Wednesday my friend Becka invited a few of us out to preview their booth for Vegas.  She also owns a cute shop called Kiki La Rue.  She’s SO sweet and they are going to do great in Vegas…the booth was awesome!

I bought this shirt and I just love it!  Perfect color for fall 🙂

Another thing I’m loving is this hoodie from Evy’s Tree.  It is SO soft and I love how it has the holes at the bottom of the sleeves.  When I’m shooting photos I can’t wear gloves, so this is FAB in my book!

I’m so glad the eggnog latte is about to make a return.  In case you didn’t know that yet?  Happy #redcup season!!!  If you have never had a Kinder Santa then you MUST try them!  We have the German Deli that sells them here.  I also think you can order online.  My Dad used to bring Kinder back from Germany all the time when we were little.  So, Kinder is just a taste of my childhood.  Maybe that’s why my sister and I are so crazy about it!

Holla Back Girl!

My Starbucks addiction is as bad as Britney’s…and you know what THE PEOPLE HAVE SPOKEN!!!

Can I get an AMEN???

I realize a lot of you may not like eggnog lattes.  Just imagine something you look forward to all year long and it’s ripped from your fingers.

So BAM!  Courtesy of USA Today here is the article:

Starbucks has eggnog on its face.

The coffee kingpin will bring back its seasonal Eggnog Latte nationwide this month after a customer revolt spread from letters to phone calls to social media. It had dropped the beverage, a seasonal offering since 1986, to try to simplify its expanding menu. “We made a mistake,” says spokeswoman Linda Mills. “We are very sorry.”

How sorry?

Well, they’re not handing out free Eggnog Lattes. But Starbucks hopes to have the drink back in all stores by the week of Nov. 17, says Mills. Because it has always been so popular in the Pacific Northwest, it was re-introduced there Nov. 1. The problem, she says, is quickly getting enough eggnog from suppliers.

The move to very rapidly respond to consumer complaints isn’t unusual. Last spring, after the company began selling its lemon cake and pumpkin bread in miniature loaves instead of slices, it got complaints and quickly changed back to the slices.

For retailers in the social media era, instantly responding to consumer gripes is critical. Quick action is especially critical for Starbucks in the holiday season, by far its most profitable period.

Starbucks started hearing eggnog complaints Nov.1 when it began its holiday push at U.S. stores by switching to red cups from its usual. The consumer blowback began with complaints to baristas who had to explain that the beverage had been discontinued, says Mills. It evolved into complaints to its customer call center, e-mails, letters and social media posts on Facebook, Twitter and to its MyStarbucksIdea.com site.

Dear Starbucks,

How could you do this to me…to all of us? I wait all year round for my taste of Christmas in a red cup and this year you have FAILED ME!!!  Do you not know that eggnog is THE Christmas signature beverage?  I just want to beat you with nutmeg.  I’m in denial like so many others out there as to how you could take this off the holiday menu and put some chestnut beverage (which is probably easier to make because it comes in a syrup bottle) on the menu.  It will NEVER replace our beloved eggnog latte.  EVER.

I want to channel my inner Uncle Eddie and drink my eggnog latte and listen to Christmas music in my car on the way to work. Sadly, this year that won’t be the case.  I’ll have to find somewhere else that makes an eggnog latte.  An eggnog latte that is not available on every other exit off the freeway.  Boo on you Starbucks!!!  Bah humbug!!!

You are like the green mermaid that stole Christmas from everyone. Every eggnog lover out there is revolting and envying all their friends on the Pacific coast (where you have decided to sell the eggnog latte to THEM!)  Yes, I live in another part of the country.  Does that mean I’m not worthy of an eggnog latte?

I’ll just sit back and watch this season while everyone posts their eggnog lattes on Instagram and Facebook shoving it my face because I can’t have one! I say #bringbackeggnoglattes

You took away my Christmas in a red cup Starbucks. I know this is trivial and some would say #firstworldproblems

I would have to agree with you…but seriously??? WHY?  There was absolutely no reason to pull it from the menu when so many people out there anticipate and enjoy the eggnog latte every year.

I say to you STARBUCKS…”If you want my BUCKS this season bring my eggnog latte back!”

Or else…..
