What’s more caffeinated java can help slash your diabetes risk in half and reduce your odds of certain forms of breast cancer by 75 percent; researchers say coffee contains powerful compounds that may strengthen your body’s defenses. And you’ll keep your brain sharp too, drinking three to five cups daily may reduce your odds of developing dementia by 65 percent.

That my friends is my justification for drinking so much coffee! Ha ha!

Pretty Muddy is a 5K adventurous obstacle course mud run for any woman who wants to get outside, spend time with friends and have fun. I have a lot of friends that have done this and it seems like a blast!

Moms Night Out: North East Mall

Last week I attended a local event our mall was putting on for Moms. A special night out with pampering, door prizes, and lots of coupons and food! I met a few of my friends there and we walked around the booths. Everyone was so friendly and we got lots of goodies to take home. Afterwards we did a little shopping with our coupons and gift cards 🙂 I love our community, and it was so nice for our local mall (NorthEast Mall) to recognize Moms for a special night out.

In other random stuff going on lately….

In case you didn’t know it’s teacher appreciation month. As a full-time working Mom our teachers are so special to us. I can’t be there during the day to teach Connor and educate him, so I’m entrusting him in the best hands possible. His teacher’s Ms. “W” and Ms. Eva love him so much. It makes me feel good that they love my kiddo like their own. They are teaching him valuable information, he’s building friendships, and learning discipline. We are thankful for you both and appreciate everything you do!!!

His school theme is OWLS….and no that did not persuade me to put him in this school 😉 IMG_20130509_074527

Throwback Thursday: Mother’s Day Edition

I love my Mom. I have to say that living further away from her has only made me MORE thankful for her. I wish I was there this weekend to give her a big ole hug and kiss. She sacrificed a lot for my sister and I. Especially while living in Germany, where she knew no one and raising twins while my Dad was out on drills for the Army. Those were the days when we wore cloth diapers and she had to boil water for laundry! Can you imagine???

She a great teacher. She is a reading and literacy advocate and counselor. My Mom has touched so many lives of young children over the years. So blessed to call her my Mom and thankful for everything she’s ever done for me. I could go on and on and probably write a book about it….but in the end…..all that matters is……

And my sweet Nannie Sue too…she’s everything to us!

Love you both bunches and thank you for being the ultimate role model in my life. You both are smart, loving, and most importantly, Godly women that I aspire to be like some day. None can compare to either of you. xo Becky

DFW Bloggers Spring Meet-Up

Saturday night I got to hang with all my DFW Diva bloggers! Let me just say this bunch of gals is amazing! Like, for realz….I heart them. Everyone is so nice and genuine, just like they are on their blogs, or even better! We started off the night at Lucky Strike bowling alley. I’d never been before, but I’m not the best bowler. Obviously, because later that evening I learned I won the trophy for the lowest score! Hey….at least I got a trophy right?

I want to give a super special thank you to our hostess with the mostess NICOLE. Without her none of this would have happened. She organized and planned the whole event.
