Friday Favorites

I’m linking up today with two of my favorite Friday link-ups Leslie & Laurenmindykaling

1.  I won a signed copy of Mindy Kaling’s book “Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me?”  Let me just profess my love for Mindy.  She reminds me so much of the every day girl and I just love her attitude about life and her size and not fitting the mold of perfection that Hollywood is known for.  She’s an amazing writer and actress and I can’t wait for season 2 of “The Mindy Project”.  If you are looking for a good laugh watch that show!  Mindy is so relatable and I’m so excited for her career and the way it’s taking off after The Office.

2.  Kendra Scott was having a sale over Labor Day weekend and I visited when my sister was in town.  I absolutely LOVE This ring!  I got it on major sale and have literally worn it every day since because it goes with everything.

3.  It’s 70-something degrees today.  Can I get an Amen???  This is Texas after all.  Enter my insertion of fall everything smell in my car.  This Absolutely Autumn by Yankee is not overkill and smells amazeballs!

4. I posted on Instagram last week how I was looking for an under eye concealor. My friend Claire came to my rescue.  She recommended Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer.  Works like a charm.  It’s got a bit of a pink undertone and works really well!  She also recommended Jordana Best Lash Mascara.  You can only find it at Walgreens, but for $3 I was surprised how well I liked it!

5.  I ordered the CUTEST labels the other day.  I’ve been using them on my stuff and all the things in Connor’s backpack: school supplies, folders, toys.  These are from Kidecals and you can go and create any sort of label you can dream up!  They are waterproof, thick, and very versatile.  These labels come in sheets with all different sizes too!

Happy weekend Lovelies!!!  Enjoy your family and friends!

1. I am serious about

I’m serious about my family, religion, and coffee.  Not necessarily in that order…

When push comes to shove my family is #1.  I know it may not always show, but it’s true.  I couldn’t imagine life without them.  Of course God is the center of our lives.  We always try to be mindful of the things we do and the decisions we make with a God-centered attitude.  And coffee…well, not all coffee is created equal.  I can definitely tell that when you take away all the sugar and syrup and try a plain old shot of espresso…you can definitely tell the difference!

2. I am most relaxed when
My life is in order.  My house is clean.  I have a blank slate and nothing to do but relax and just chill out and de-stress.  Also, a massage doesn’t hurt 😉

3. There’s no place like
My Nannie and Papa’s house.  The farm is the one place in my life that has always been consistent.  It’s where my Mom grew up.  We moved around a lot because my Dad was in the Army, but we always knew when we were at the farm we were HOME.

Show us Your Life Singles: Kyle

I’m linking up with Kelly’s Korner today.  It’s amazing how many couples have found each other through her blog and are now married and have kids!  Just CRAZY!

Okay, I’ve put this guy up on here before and he’s FULLY aware he is on here again.  He just hasn’t found his soul mate yet.  Kyle has been Terence’s best friend since they were in pre-school.  He was in our wedding 13 years ago and I am bound and determined to find the right gal for him.

Kyle is 33 years old.  He IS employed and has a good job!  He practically lives on the water and on his boat.  If he had gills I think he would be a fish.  Kyle is looking for a woman who is fun, likes the outdoors (especially the water), likes to try new things, laid back.

Basically he told me he’s looking for a tom boy who likes to have fun.  Someone who is physically fit and enjoys a laid back life style.  He’s not into girly girls who have a 50 pairs of red shoes or worry about their makeup constantly.  He’s looking for someone who is easy to talk to, relaxed, and easy-going.

Kyle loves to travel, snorkel, and is very adventurous.

If you fit the bill then email me at beckylbranch@gmail.com and I’ll pass along your information.  He’s in the DFW area, so if you live here then give me a shout!

Here are a few pictures of Kyle:

1. I feel stupid when
I don’t know what I am talking about.  That happens sometimes or I make up words.  I just brush it off like I knew what I was talking about all along!!!  Ha ha!  For realz. Legit. Cray Cray. MAJ!.  Bootydoo.  You know stuff like that…whatevs.

2. I hope I never
Lose the joy, joy, joy, joy down in my heart.  Nobody’s ever going to steal my joy sista!  No matter what.  I wake up day and it’s new and living each day with JOY is my goal.  Focus on the positive not the negative.  Nobody likes a Debbie Downer…we got too many of those folks in the world.

3. My one piece of advice to the world

Be authentic.  Be who you are and own it.  Money can’t buy happiness.  Don’t worry about tomorrow, because it’s all in God’s hands anyway.  Too many nights my head hits the pillow and that’s when my head start reeling with things to do or things I forgot to do.

Take a chill pill and just relax.  (Easier said that done right?)

Have fun. Live each day for what it is….a blessing!

Happy Wednesday Lovelies 🙂

This lil guy makes every day worth it!

It’s Friday….Hip Hip Hooray!

Linking up with two of my faves today Leslie & Lauren

(I missed the boat on the Finish This link-up this week and last week….but I’ll be back on board with that next week I promise!)

This week has been full of working, doctors appointments, sick kid, and I’m trying to (I’m not going to say the word DIET) watch what I eat.  Terence and I have been walking 2 miles every night and my knees are KILLING me!  It’s probably because I sit at a desk all day and my muscles are in complete shock.  Any suggestions on knee soreness?  Or should I just push through it?

1.  My closet is a disaster.  I seriously need a professional organizer to come in and help me with this. Poor Terence only gets like 1/4 of our closet and our bathroom! Ha ha! Any pointers on how to tackle this wreck?

 2.  I love my new key fob from Kid Robot.  I think you can find them at Barnes & Noble stores.

Appropriate right?

3.  I really want to make a feather flower bouquet.  I saw these on one of my favorite sites called Save On Crafts.  They are so cute!

4. I LOVE my new coffee t-shirt.  My friend Sarah told me about it!  You can find it HERE.

 5.  I’m so ready for fall.  Pumpkin spice candles, scarves, and boots!

Isn’t this the cutest tote from Lands End?  And it glows in the dark!

Cheers everyone and happy weekend!!!

Friday STUFF.

Connor’s been really enjoying swim lessons lately and I love watching him swim! It’s an indoor pool, so it’s like a 30 minute sauna for me and a 30 minute swim lesson for him. I come out SOAKED! It’s so hot up in there.

I got these cute little glasses from the Nordstrom Pop-In shop #PoketoThey had the cutest items in there.  I think the fall there is going to be a new Pop-In shop…can’t wait!

These are the perfect size for Connor, but they are real glass.  He feels like a big boy using them 🙂

I found this lace swing top at the Nordstrom sale too.  It was in the SPORTS (Active wear) section and I couldn’t believe it!  It was only $23 bucks and I LOVE it!  The brand is Haute Society I think.

I found this floor sample shelf at Pottery Barn Kids a few weeks ago. I’m so proud because I hung it ALL BY MYSELF! It was a steal and it’s pretty big. Originally priced at $100 on sale for $39.99!

IMG_20140729_220651

Well that’s about it for now! Happy Friday everyone!

Can you believe it’s in the 80’s in TEXAS right now???? CRAZY!

1. I like wearing

Black.  I love black.  And I love cardigans.  They are so forgiving and comfy.  I have lots of cardigans.  I’m ready for fall so I can pull those out again.

I posted this on Instagram the other day of me at work:

It’s the shirt that Pinterest-Told-Me-To always talk about HERE.  The shirt is super comfy and on sale right now.  It’s SO soft!  I also got a new Kendra Scott necklace on serious sale!  It’s so nice to live 5 minutes away from a Nordstrom 🙂 Notice a theme here? Black.

2. My most memorable style was
Oh gosh.  I remember wearing overalls in high school and some how those suckers are making their way back into the fashion world.  I’ve also seen at least 3 people wearing fanny packs lately.  Dear Lord…..no fanny packs!!!

Notice my college ID: OVERALLS!

3. I dress to impress by

Putting on a little more makeup than normal.  A bold red lipstick or a smoky eye.  Wear something with sparkles 😉

4. The best style tip I ever received
Dress your size.  Don’t try to squeeze your butt into a size 4 if you are really a size 8.  It only makes you look worse and no one is ever going to see the tag! REALLY?

5. Three wardrobe staples in my closet

Jeans, cardigans, and Niki Biki tank tops

6. Three words that describe my style
Timeless, comfortable, and soft
