Chocolate is My Love Language: Hershey’s KISSES Deluxe #SayMore #IC

I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Influence Central for Hershey’s KISSES Deluxe. I received product samples to facilitate my review and a promotional item to thank me for my participation.

If you know me well or have been around me a decent amout of time you know my absolute LOVE for all things chocolate!  I recently tried the Hershey’s KISSES Deluxe chocolates and oh my gosh y’all!  Soooo good!  These KISSES are filled with whole roasted hazelnut, creamy layers and delicate crisps.

Christmas is all about sharing love and spreading cheer.  What better way to say you care about someone than a box full of chocolates???

When I was growing up we would go to church on Sundays and my Dad would ask all the ladies if they wanted a “kiss“.  Of course they would smile and laugh at him…then sort of look at him like he was crazy!  Ha ha!  My Dad would smile back and place a Hershey’s KISS in their hand.  It tickled them and it made their day.  The looks on their faces was priceless when they realized it was a chocolate he was handing them 🙂

My Daddy is awesome like that.  He always thinks of everyone before himself.

I look forward to the holiday season because of the feeling in the air and everyone just seems to be a little bit nicer.  People give more, do more, and say more.  These KISSES are twice the size of an original KISSES Chocolate.  More to love!  Ha ha!

I’m going to give someone a KISS this holiday….are you?

Look at the hazelnut center.  I can’t wait to make someone’s day and make them feel special.

This video touched my heart.  As Mom’s so many things we do go unnoticed and it’s so sweet what her kids did.  Melt my heart….literally.

How will you make someone’s day this holiday?

Sink or Swim?

We are adjusting to our apartment pretty well.  I’ve got Connor enrolled in swim lessons this summer with Ms. Julia.  He is doing okay…but oh my does that kid know how to scream bloody murder!  It’s super embarrassing!  He totally goes CRAZY when he has to float on his back.  Then people start to stare and wonder who he belongs to….I just walk away.  Who’s kid is that anyway???

Ha ha…not really….sorta…kinda….

I got to do a fun photo shoot this past weekend for my friend Sarah and her apparel line WakeMeUp Designs.

We’ve been shopping for school supplies & that list is very specific let me tell ya.  What kind of pencil has an 18 letter name for the brand?  I’m confused and I’m 34.  Still loving my new job and the flexibility it gives me.  I’m also learning a lot and it’s challenging in others.  Overall I’m just feeling very blessed as of late and thanking the Lord for many blessings.  I woke up this morning to check my Facebook feed and one of my good friends I met through blogging years ago, Leslie, had passed away yesterday.  I’m just devastated.  She was so beautiful inside and out and Heaven indeed gained an angel.  She used to laugh so hard when I would say she and Stephen looked like “Barbie & Ken”.  Such a wonderful friend and my heart and thoughts are with her husband and her two small girls.  God I pray your hand over this family…

A GO FUND ME account has been created for Leslie’s two beautiful girls.

It’s times like this that make you realize how fleeting life really is.  In the end we are all only human.  The only thing that makes us whole is God’s love and grace.

Life is short.  The days are long.  Live more, want less, do what you want, and don’t stress.

How’s Life Treating You? A Little Update on What’s Going On…

I haven’t done a whole-hearted life update in awhile. Well, as you all know we sold our house.  The same home we brought Connor into and nurtured him for the first 5 years of his life.  It was a great home.

11535835_10155637404830125_4560112351966260009_n

We put it on the market on a Friday and accepted an offer on Sunday. It all happened so fast it seemed like a whirlwind. After our house sold we put numerous offers in on homes and even got an offer accepted on a house we really liked. After inspection and some hard thinking we decided it wasn’t the one for us. It was more than we really wanted to spend and it wasn’t in our desired school district for Connor.  The market is crazy right now and it’s definitely shifted to a sellers market.

So, here we are a month later and we’ve settled into our 3rd floor apartment.  Yes…THIRD FLOOR!  I’m hoping by the time summer is over I’ll have a nice firm bod from climbing all these stairs.  (We’ve lived on the 3rd floor before, but we were about 10 years younger then!)  My body hurt after this last move!  Thank goodness for our movers they were like little sherpas and so thankful for them.  The apartments are very nice, it’s just such a change from being in a single home.  We have a pool and a gym and everyone has been great so far!  I like having no maintenance and feeling free of being tied down.  In that aspect it’s nice, but I am hoping we find a house in our desired area by Christmas or sooner.  Trying to teach Connor not to yell, jump around, & be mindful of our neighbors is another story…..someone send wine!

I got some fabulous new glasses from Firmoo a few weeks ago.  I’ve been wearing glasses more lately because my allergies and my eyes aren’t friends.  Don’t I look super smart and all?  Subscribe to Firmoo’s mailing list and get 15% off your first pair of glasses!

I ordered some new business cards for my photography.  I think they turned out fab.  I designed them myself.  I am looking for a few graduating seniors in the DFW area to take pictures of to add to my portfolio.  If you have a senior graduating or know one email me at beckylbranch@gmail.com 🙂

Speaking of photos, I snapped these of my boys a few weeks ago and love them!  We had a great father’s day & are so thankful for our Ter-Bear.

The cutest class I ever did see!  I just love this board of “When I Grow Up I Want to Be…”BBP_2569

Connor said he wanted to be a soldier and that melted my heart.  His Dad was a soldier and I think it’s so sweet he wants to be like his Daddy.BBP_2561

So…here’s to things finally calming down.  As life takes turns knowing God is always there beside us 🙂

Support our Soldiers & Share Direct Energy #DEcares

Being a former military family anything I can do to help our service members is close to my heart.  When Terence and I first got married it was right after September 11th happened and I cannot tell you how hard those next few years were.

The thing that kept us going and also keeps those troops going is all the support and love they get from back home.  I would send care packages and cards….it made their day.  Even the smallest things that you don’t think would mean something actually DO!

At Direct Energy, they are committed to giving back to those who have given so much to our country. That’s why they have recently launched the military portal, a dedicated space where military personnel can find discounted energy rates for their home energy needs.

Plus, once you’re a Direct Energy Customer, you’ll have access to their on time bill payments rewards program, Refer-a-Friend Program, easy, on the go Online Account Manager and more.

To be eligible for the discounted military rates, you must enter your valid ID into the portal. Once it verifies, you will then be directed to a dedicated military plans page. You will then see plans available in your area.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again….I love to support companies who give back.

How do you help military personnel in your community?

The FedEx Man

BBP_0398

Saturday Morning…..Ding Dong.

It’s the FedEx man delivering some packages to our house.  I just woke up so I’m not fully dressed.  I hover behind the corner while Terence goes to answer the door.

When Terence answers the door to accept the package Connor runs up and goes “Yay!!!  There’s our mail!”

The FedEx man said “Wow…look at that.  A family; man you are living the dream.  You are blessed.”

Connor chuckled a little and the FedEx man laughed and said thank you.  Terence said thank you back.

I overheard everything while I was behind the corner and I just thought “WOW…that was so nice!”  I wonder what made him say those things that day.  Why he thought WE were as special as we apparently looked in his eyes.  His personality just beamed.  I know you don’t have to say nice things to people.  But what a difference it makes.  Whether you are delivering packages or working in an office….it doesn’t matter.  People notice.  People notice when your light shines a little brighter.  I noticed that light in the FedEx man that day and it made my heart happy.

You never know someone’s circumstances.  It never hurts to say something kind.

No matter where you are and what you do.  Remember that.

THANK YOU FedEx man for the kind reminder of how blessed I am, because sometimes we just unintentionally forget.

Oh The New Year…Let it Go…”Literally”

Well, it’s another year.  2015.  I can’t believe it.  I feel so O.L.D.

I have enjoyed keeping this blog so much and it’s nice to have a journal to “talk” about things with you all whoever reads this corner of the Internet.

I don’t really have a resolution this year.  I’m not going to go all Julie & Julia on you and try to recreate every recipe in a Julia Child cookbook.  I do, however, have hope and ambitions that this is going to be a great year!  Enjoying the small moments with friends and family.  TRY not to worry so much…something I do very well unfortunately.  Grow closer to the Lord.

Terence got me a Kindle for Christmas and I’ve really REALLY enjoyed it more than I thought I would.  How did I live so long without this thing?  I’m also supposed to get my new camera gear in today so queue lots of frivolous photographing because Mama is going to play with her new toys 🙂

I hope to appreciate Ter-Bear more.  Be better at planning out our meals instead of stressing myself out with “What’s for dinner?” every day.  I’m hoping that sometime in the future I can do photography full-time.  I’m just not sure how steady that income would be.

I’m tired of people taking advantage of me because I wear my heart on my sleeve.  I am FAR from perfect, but I don’t like it when people throw others under the bus to make themselves look better.  That has grown very apparent over the last few years- and I seem to be a bull’s-eye for those type of people.  I’m proud I have compassion and a love for others.  It’s just who I am.  I have a great work ethic & ever since I turned 16 and could get a job I’ve worked hard.  With Connor starting Kindergarten I’d love to be there more to help him with homework & I could totally rock the whole Beverly Goldberg mom thing 😉

Thank you to my husband for investing in me and my future & my new camera stuff.  I know it was hard for him to bite that bullet.  But I am so THANKFUL.  Terence has always encouraged me, loved me, and never thought I couldn’t do anything I set my mind to.  He’s my biggest supporter & I love him so very much.  I need to tell him that more.

We’re in this life together babe.  Here’s to 14 years of marital ahem…BLISS.  Thank you for being my rock & I’m so proud of YOU & all your accomplishments.  We’ve come a long way from those two 18-year-old googly eyed teenagers.

So, for 2015 I’m not setting resolutions.  I’m believing in myself.  Trusting in the Lord.  And hopefully grow a bigger spine 😉 ha ha!

(And let’s all LET GO of the song “Let it Go”!!!!) buwwwaaaahhhaaaahhhaaaa!!!
