Sometimes You Need to Slow Down…

I’ve got so much going on that I’ve got to slow down a little bit before I run myself ragged. It seems like every weekend something is going on. I’m finally getting my hair done after neglecting it for the past 5 months. I’m really trying to be patient and grow it out….but it’s in such an awkward phase right now.

The one thing I don’t want to do is put my family on the back burner…as soon as mid November hits I’m just going to relax and really start hitting the gym hardcore. I was doing really good at going, then we went out-of-town and this week I’ve had a good life long friend visiting. We had a great time & I’m trying to get her to move here 🙂  *hint* *hint*

I went to my annual lady visit and seriously nearly stroked out when she weighed me. Something had GOTSTA change. I’m just not gonna let this happen dang it!

So I was driving down the street the other day and I passed a farm stand with the most gorgeous mums. I keep telling Terence how much I love mums and wanted to get some. So I peeled into that parking lot like a hot tamale and got me one! Purple, TCU purple ya know…because that’s how we are around these parts.D7K_6421 My love bug in the back seat rolling. He loves wearing those sunglasses.D7K_6435 My friend Ellen (the one who came to visit this weekend) makes the most GORGEOUS jewels. Eyeshadow, lipstick, blush….blah blah blah. MAKEUP. Okay I’m done. D7K_6483

What are you up to???? Is it cold where you live?

Red Hot Valentine

I made these cute little Valentine treats from Connor.  I know not all kids like red hots..because, well, they are hot!  But I figured Mom & Dad could eat them and I would also give something for the kids.  I just liked the idea of using red hots 🙂

I made this up on my own….and I was so proud!
Just clear baggies, a label, red hots, and ribbon
Very fitting of a Valentine theme don’t you think?

Countdown to V-day is on….

Is that why Godiva called my house tonight???

They know my number???

Those Godiva oompa loompa’s are working overtime!

(I kid you not, they actually called)

Note to hubby: Every year you get me Godiva extra dark choco truffles….don’t fail me.  I think this was a sign…that my one time a year to indulge is okay 😉  I know you love my lovely lady lumps.

This is a public service announcement:

If you work outside the home and the delivery man doesn’t come your way on Valentine’s day…..it’s like the walk of shame.  Everyone oooh’s and aaaaah’s over what comes through the door on Valentine’s day.  You can see the look of anticipation on every co-workers face.  When the poor delivery guy doesn’t say “It’s for YOU” then you just blow it off like it’s not big deal.  Forget that…IT IS.  This is why I dread Valentine’s day, because the expected of the unexpected.  My hubs knows I love him, and I know he loves me……

Dudes….don’t leave your gal hanging this year!

Connor’s Closet Makeover

Our little boy is growing up.  Along with that he has surplus of tiny cars and toys galore.  Every year The Container Store puts there Elfa shelving on sale.  We almost bit the bullet last year and did this…but finally we got it done and I think it was a GREAT investment!
Instead of getting him a dresser we wanted to do built in drawers in the closet.  This way they are out of the way and he has more space to play in his bedroom.  He was thrilled with it too!  We are working on not climbing the shelves!  Now we have a place to put all his toys, clothes, and tiny cars.
I’ve done some re-arranging since these photos, but overall I’m very happy with it!

Some other things I wanted to note:

  • I wanted to share about a fundraiser for Aaron & Abby Willis.  “Aaron & Abby Willis delivered their first baby boy, Jonah Bentley Willis on February 1st, 2012; he was stillborn. God blessed them with another sweet baby boy, Harper Bailey Willis. Abby went into preterm labor & delivered Harper on October 18, 2012. They were blessed to have Harper for 3 and a half hours until he joined sweet Jonah in Heaven. The doctors later discovered that Abby has a bicornuate uterus & have advised Aaron & Abby that they do not need to get pregnant again, but that …a Gestational Carrier would be a way for them to have their own child. The money raised through this fundraiser will go towards Aaron & Abby’s IVF and Gestational Carrier expenses.              Please help us help Aaron & Abby in realizing their dream to bring home a child of their own to love here on Earth. Cookbooks are $15 each. For anyone that wants their cookbook shipped once it comes in, please add a flat shipping rate of $5 to your order.                                                      Please MAKE CHECKS PAYABLE to Sarah Murphy (Baby Willis Acct). Payment/donations can also be made via Paypal to ebrazel83@gmail.com”  FACEBOOK SITE
  •  Also really loved reading Kristen’s post today…mother to mother you should never judge someone’s decision to have only one child.  And if you do then keep it to yourself.
  • I have really enjoyed reading all of your Blogger Biggest Loser posts!  Ya’ll are doing so awesome!  I saw a lot of you using the “My Fitness Pal” App.  I am going to try that and see how it works!!! Thank you!!!!

Connor’s New Big Boy Bed

I think he likes it.  Or at least jumping on it.  Which we are trying to put a halt on that one!
We got it from Pottery Barn Kids.  It was on sale and free shipping over Thanksgiving weekend.
I also won a $500 Pottery Barn Kids gift card from a Facebook Halloween Costume Contest!!!!
I was in total shock and so excited!!!!
Alas, we bought the bed.  Now we have this gift card.  I could totally spend it no problem….but if you’d like it we are trying to sell it for $450 to re-coup at least what we spent on the bed.  It’s also good at Pottery Barn & Williams Sonoma.  If you’d like to enquire email me at beckylbranch@gmail.com
Here are a few pictures of my big boy in his big bed 🙂

He did really well sleeping in it!

Hope that continues…..
