Our Paris Portrait #EasyCanvasPrints

In our extra bedroom we have three watercolors we picked up in Paris.  So it has sort of become our “Paris” room.  There was one blank wall that needed something on it so I ordered this fabulous print from Easy Canvas Prints and I absolutely love it!  Now we have our “ooh la la” moment forever captured on a beautiful canvas.  It turned out beautifully and is great quality as well!

Bacon! Bacon! Bacon!

D7K_1714If you’ve never heard of Petit Jean Bacon or meat products you are missing out my friends.  Most of you know that I am from Arkansas…and I grew up eating Petit Jean meats.  Petit Jean is close to my hometown of Conway, AR.  D7K_1711I was thrilled to find out they are the “official bacon for the Dallas Cowboys”.  I now live in the DFW area and it’s nice to have a little feeling of home with me here.  If you’ve never tried Petit Jean Bacon OMG is all I have to say.  It is the bomb diggidy and you must go out to Wal-Mart and getcha some!  It’s SOOOOOO much better than any other bacon out there….maybe I am a bit biased, but you won’t know until you’ve tried it.D7K_1710So last night for dinner I made one of our household favorites.  The ultimate BLT.  I fried up some Petit Jean Hickory Smoked Bacon…..D7K_1713Sizzle…sizzle…pop…pop!!!D7K_1716The only thing I wish I had to add was avacado….so YUM on BLTs.D7K_1720 Extra crispy bacon is how we like it in our houseD7K_1726 Okay now there it is…and if you aren’t hungry yet, then something is the matter with you!D7K_1730

Get Your Groove Thing On: Start the Morning Off Right

Folgers “Favorite Part of the Morning” Campaign Did you know I LOVE coffee? Shocker I know! It’s true, I cannot tell a lie. I can’t go one morning without my coffee fix. I used to hate coffee, but once I started drinking it little did I know it would become one of my favorite things….like ever. Gulp. Sometimes Terence will wake up and make us coffee before I get out of bed. That is an extra special gesture, he is speaking my love language when he makes coffee for us. Most mornings we are frantically running around trying to get out of the house. Terence usually wakes up first, then me, then we wake Connor and get him dressed. After we’ve all showered and look presentable for the day we are out the door, coffee in hand of course! There is something about the aroma of coffee brewing in the morning that is nostalgic for me. Even when I didn’t like the taste of coffee I loved the smell of a fresh brewed pot. Coffee is a way for me to escape and enjoy some “me” time and helps get me going at the crack of dawn. I’m sipping my coffee before I even hit the road. There’s something about having my morning coffee that takes the edge off of DFW rush hour traffic. Or maybe it just allows me to be more aware of what’s going on. Either way, I have to say my morning isn’t complete without my coffee fix. We pump up the music in the car to “Itsy Bitsy Spider” and we are on our way to start the day. Hey that rhymed!

On Saturday mornings one of our favorite things to do is sleep in, make our cups of coffee, then turn the speakers up really loud and let Connor have a dance party. He is quite the dancer I must say! My husband is obsessed with music and pretty much any chance he gets he’ll rock the house out. True story: One week before Connor was born he was in the attic installing surround sound in our living room. Saturday morning dance parties are one of the highlights of my week. Sitting on the sofa, listening to music, watching Connor dance his little 3 year old tootsie off. I love it. We have many videos of him dancing and someday we’ll show his girlfriend what great moves he had. *wink* *wink* Regardless of how you drink it, coffee brings something to everyone’s mind. It’s been around for years. My first memories of coffee were at my Grandparents house early in the morning, before Papa would leave to go work the farm. He loved to listen to Johnny Cash. A song does the same thing, it brings back memories….who you were with, where you were, what you were doing when you heard that song. Perfect combination if you ask me? Coffee and the perfect song = good times and great memories.

Seattle’s Best Coffee #DFW Night of Fun + Awesome Giveaway!

Last night Connor Jamesy and I drove to Dallas to visit the grand opening of Seattle’s Best Coffee.  He asked who was going and I said “It’s just me and you bud!”  Then I said “Will you be my date?”  Connor said “Yeah Mommy I’m your date!”  So sweet!

Octonauts Fun!

Octonauts is cartoon series for children 2-6. The Octonauts are a team of undersea adventurers who are always ready to dive into action! Their mission: to explore new underwater worlds, rescue amazing sea creatures and protect the ocean.  Connor LOVES watching Octonauts and he’s really into fish and sea life right now because that’s what they’ve been studying in school.

We received several new Octonaut toys to play with on our doorstep a couple of weeks ago.  Oh my goodness you would have thought it was Christmas Day!  Connor was SO excited and he’s been playing with his Octonaut buddies ever since.  He even plays with them in the bath.

He’s at the age where he has really started to role play with toys.  I love peeking in his room and listening to his imagination run wild while playing.  It’s usually pretty funny!  The Octonauts have a lot of crashes and dives I must say!  Boys…..D7K_0317 D7K_0320 D7K_0321
