Meshing

I have Christmas on the brain…I know what you are thinking “Becky you are insane”!!!!

I don’t know why, and I am totally NOT skipping over fall festivities and Thanksgiving.  So no worries.

I was thinking of doing our tree a little bit different this year.  Our ribbon from Garden Ridge has seen better days, and honestly I HATE cleaning up all that glitter after the holidays are over.

I’ve always loved the floral aka decorator’s mesh that people use in their Christmas trees, wreaths, and decor.  I Googled “Christmas floral mesh” and these are some images that came up…….

All you AR fans will LOVE this one!

The thing is I have no idea how to use the stuff???

Where do I even find it or buy it???

How do you incorporate it in your tree?

If you have used it do you mind telling me how you work with this mesh ribbon?

Commenting Complex

Lately I have been super busy.  Like so busy my anxiety has been on overdrive and we are about to hit the holidays….so wooooosh.  Here it comes.

Plus work has been slamming me.

Sometimes I feel guilty for not being able to comment on all of your blogs.  I truly appreciate YOUR comments and the love I feel from each and every reader.  It helps me through my day and I feel so supported and loved!  I think of so many of you as true friends!

When I started this blog almost seven years ago…gah…has it been that long?  Nobody even knew what a blog was, and now it’s like “the thing” to do.  I really want to remain true to why I started this blog and write about things I enjoy and believe in.  It’s easy to be sucked into something just because you’re getting paid or it’s free.  I am not going to lie, I do.

Regardless, I still write about things I love and enjoy!  Getting perks or paid has come over time and it does take work believe it or not.  It’s time away from your family and friends that you have to sit there and think about what to write and how to present something.  It’s sort of like a second job.

Do I need a second job?  No.

I do enjoy writing in things I think are fun and enjoyable….and as long as that remains the case I’ll do so.  Making a little extra moolah is a bonus, and honestly who doesn’t enjoy that?

Most days I feel an enormous guilt because I don’t comment or show YOU how I love reading your blogs-I enjoy hearing about your life, your new adventures, thoughts, family, and crafting ideas.  I admire so many of you!

Unfortunately, the only time I really get to read is during a break at work or lunch break.  At work all the comments are blocked.  Boo.  I know…sucks right?  But I wanted to let you know I still love you and care and am reading!  Please, if you haven’t attached your email to your Blogger account do so ASAP!  This makes it so when I get a comment I can respond via email!

Thanks for caring about me and my life.  Thanks for the support and love you all have shown over the years.  If you haven’t heard from me in awhile just shoot me an email via beckylbranch@gmail.com

Every single one of you is a blessing and I’m so thankful God brought you into my life through this website.

xoxo Becky

Random….but cute site for party supplies!

A Bunch of Biz

I participated in Meredith’s scarf swap a few weeks ago and my precious partner Andie sent me the CUTEST infinity scarf in my favorite shades of green!  She’s so nice!  I have never owned an infinity scarf and I love it!  Thank you so much Andie for making my mail more fun and I’ve already worn my scarf several times 🙂

You can see from the pictures here that my hair is actually starting to grow out again! Yay!!!!  As much as I loved this short cut for summer I am definitely ready to have a ponytail back!

We also went looking at some “big boy beds” for Connor.  Look at this adorable chevron kids chair….so cute right?  I wonder how long this chevron trend will last???
We liked this bed.  It doesn’t include the storage or the bed underneath, but I thought it would be cute to hang a curtain rod with some cute curtains under the bed and it can be a little fort/tent area?  I also liked the drawers and storage on the stairs.

I heart this wall unit.  I just don’t know if it goes with anything we have in our house right now!

And last but not least….a Halloween sneaky peeky for work!  It’s not the best Photoshop job but I had limited heads to choose from! Ha ha!

Have a great Tuesday ya’ll!

Weekend Update

This past weekend Connor and I met up with his Grana, Aunts, and cousins to go see Big Bird and friends at the planetarium.  It was at the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History

We saw stars, the moon, and sun!  It was a cute show and I think the kiddos really enjoyed it.

It was also free admission to the entire museum that day, and I think every.single.family in Fort Worth was in there….and I forgot my darn child leash in the car!

We also saw some dinosaurs!
Actually when I put Connor up there to take a picture he was only interested in peeling bird poop off the concrete :/
 Texas cattle
 Dino bones

After we left the museum I decided to get grocery shopping out of the way.  We headed to Target where Connor screamed about 90% of the time I was trying to shop.  What for?  I have no idea…he just kept saying something about a police car???  I think he was just tired and ready for a nap.  He’s usually really good while shopping.  I even had a lady look at me with sorry eyes and say “I know exactly how you feel right now….I have a 2 and 4 year old at home”…..THANK YOU VERY MUCH.  Ugh….it was awful!

We both took naps after that.  Amen.  Amen.
Look at this cute sparkly pumpkin garland-found at the $1 spot at Target!
So cute!

The rest of the weekend we just relaxed and we went out to dinner with some good friends last night!

The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf opened in Dallas and I am DYING to go….

maybe next weekend???

Show Us Your Life Singles!!!

This is my dear friend Amber.

She’s been such a great friend to me since I’ve been in Texas.  She is one of those people who within 5 minutes you feel like you’ve known them for 5 years. She’s so kind and funny, I could go on and on!

  • Amber is 28-29???  I don’t know but she’s a few years younger than me 😛
  • She’s the awesome Mom of two boys {Kylon + Kayden}
  • She works a full time job and still manages to put a hot meal on the table most nights…something I struggle with daily.
  • She loves to bake and decorate.
  • She is a coffee lover, crafter, and downright awesome gal!!!
A little history:

Sadly, early this year tragedy struck her family.  Amber’s husband, Brett, was killed in a motorcycle accident.  She is one of the most loving and strong people I’ve ever known.  Any guy that gets this gal is one LUCKY dude.  She’s just beyond words beautiful and amazing!  To have gone through what she has gone through and persevere is beyond me.

(Yes-she does know I am doing this….we talked about it prior to this post 🙂

So without further ado….

Meet Amber.

But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.

Frizz Control

Okay I am embarrassed I’m even posting this picture of myself.  But this is how my crazy hair truly is!  If you’ve seen my 2 year old’s fro then here’s where he gets it from…..
Sorry kid.
I’ve been straightening my hair and fighting my curl since the early teen years.  I always wanted straight hair instead of the poodle puff I was born with.  I know some people pay for curls…but you always want what you don’t have right???
Excuse my red eyes, horrible allergies lately.  And I literally just rolled out of bed when I took this picture :/
I’ve been an avid hair straightener for 15+ years.  When Misikko Hana Salon asked me if I would like to try out their Croc Hair Straightener I was like “heck yes”!!!
I really love this straightener.  I am not just saying that ya’ll.  I’ve gone through 3 Chi irons and one other brand.  I’ve now replaced my Chi with the Croc Straightener.  I like how you can control the temperature of the iron on the dial.  I also liked that it’s shorter in length, which is great when you are trying to control shorter pieces of hair.
Great iron holder when traveling.
I always stick mine in while still hot because I never let it cool down!
Well, the proof is in the picture!
I love the results I got using the Croc Hair Straightener & know you will too 🙂
