Snug as a bug!

Swaddle Designs strives to help new parents care for their baby by providing accurate and up-to-date information, so parents can make informed choices. Swaddle Designs Safe Sleep Program includes recommendations from the AAP and the NIH as the company strives to increase awareness of Safe Sleep practices and help parents reduce risk of SIDS.
According to leading SIDS researchers, both overheating AND over chilling are risk factors for SIDS. In addition, it’s important for parents to understand that when baby is too cool during sleep, baby will use valuable energy to stay warm instead of growing and thriving. Over the past few years some juvenile product companies have over focused on overheating as a SIDS risk factor, and there has been a lack of balanced conversation regarding insufficient thermal insulation – the danger of baby being too cool – as a risk factor for SIDS. It is time for a balanced information where parents are educated and reminded of their important responsibility to make sure baby is not too hot or too cold, but comfortably warm.
(I was OBSESSED with this blanket after Connor was born, it was my absolute favorite swaddling blanket because it was extra large and he still sleeps with it today!)
Founded by Lynette Damir, RN, in 2002, Swaddle Designs was the first company to introduce the large square swaddling blanket to the US and many countries around the world.  Swaddle Designs is known for their premium quality fabric, fabulous colors and prints, decorative edge, and the innovative 123 Swaddle® instructional label that helps new parents master the art of swaddling. Swaddle Designs swaddling blankets are perfect for swaddling and have many uses such as a privacy throw for breastfeeding moms, a tummy time play mat and a cover over the stroller.

Teething is so much fun! Not.

Connor is my first child, so I have never experienced the teething process until these last few months. He started cutting his first tooth over Christmas. He had been fussier than normal and I was sure he was teething; but, nothing could be seen. I was visiting my family in Arkansas and my mom noticed he had a little bit of white peeking through his gums. Sure enough, it was the beginning of a tooth! FINALLY we saw it and I was so excited! But, how do we cure his pain?
Beginning mid-March, Connor’s top two teeth started coming in. It was during this time that we had the opportunity to try the new Baby Orajel® Naturals . Boy, am I appreciative. First, I’m glad that I get to give my baby a natural product. I feel more comfortable with natural products, especially when giving them to such a young person. Second, the taste and smell are very appealing. It kind of reminds me of a cross between toothpaste and licorice. Connor enjoys it; in fact, he tries to suck any residual remnants off my fingers
As parents, we try to do whatever we can to alleviate the pain. I mean it has to hurt getting teeth through those new little gums, right? I give it to Connor throughout the day and especially before bed. It has helped tremendously with his fussiness and helps him sleep more peacefully. I honestly don’t know what we would do without it. It provides instant pain relief, is natural, tastes good, and has been such a blessing to both Connor and his Mom & Dad!
Showing our new pearly white 🙂

When it comes to teething, how do you naturally soothe your baby?

Terence’s 30th Birthday

This Saturday we celebrated Terence’s 30th birthday with some friends.  We went to Outback Steakhouse & then the guys (and Lisa) went go-carting.  Terence’s Aunt Loyce and her fiance Garry watched Connor boy so we could have a night out! Thank you!!!

I really wanted to go see a movie, but it didn’t work out to where the movie times aligned with our plans, and we had to get up early this morning to keep the nursery at church.  So…..we went to a putt putt place and rode go-carts.  And Kyle lost……poor Kyle 🙁

 Me & Terence
 The cake
(Which is still in my fridge & I’ve had two slices today…)
 Kyle & Lisa
 Sarah & Hyung
 Black cherry mojito….yummmmm……
It was a fun night and I hope you had a good time babe!
I LOVE YOU SO MUCH & YOU MEAN EVERYTHING TO ME!
We came home last night to Aunt Loyce & Garry sound asleep in the living room.  It was hilarious and I couldn’t stop laughing.  Connor must have wore them out???  He was sound asleep in his bed after several minutes of jibber jabber (According to Aunt Loyce 🙂 …..
Connor loves outside.  We can’t wait to go see our Nana & Poppy in a couple weeks and swim.  My Mom told me she got him a little pool and I know he’ll love it!  He’s never been in a swimming pool before.  Here my big boy is playing this afternoon……

He’s learning how to hail a cab!  Look at my skillz Auntie Summer!!!!
Until tomorrow….I have some more great giveaways in store next week!
I love doing them and entering them on other blogs.  It makes me so excited 🙂

Ramble Much?

(This is an update post on favorite thrift store finds for Kellys Korner Blog)

One of my absolute favorite sites is Charming Creations by Melissa

The items below are in one of my favorite antique malls here in Ft Worth called Montgomery Street Antique Mall.  If you live in DFW please visit visit!  I’m still drooling over that antique blue chest…..

Okay-so this post is going to be full of randoms because as we all know Blogger has been down for 2 days a million years! In other news: I am having major issues with my picky eater.  He does eat some foods, but is extremely picky when it comes to meat and veggies.  Anything remotely solid he spits out and his big phrase right now is “uh oh!”
ANY SUGGESTIONS ON HOW TO GET THIS CHILD TO EAT???

We also got Connor’s new big boy car seat in this week.  I must say I liked the smaller car seat much better!  It’s a pain in the butt to take this thing in and out of the car every day.  We did have fun with the box though 😉  I put Connor in the box and was dragging him in it like a sled.  He LOVED it!  He was just giggling and giggling!!!  Who knew such fun came from a cardboard box?

This past weekend I forgot to mention that we attended a lovely lunch for Terence’s Aunt Loyce.  She recently got engaged and we couldn’t be more happy for her!  We had a yummy lunch at a tea room/ antique mall and I found so many cute things in there!  There is so much unique stuff in antique malls.

Below: My food, Grandma, nephew Jacob, and the bride to be Aunt Loyce

I’m in love with these two pieces of furniture that were there.  They were painted and distressed a baby blue color.  I don’t know what I would put in all those drawers….but I am sure I could find something!

The smaller chest was $275.  Is that a good or bad price?

 Other fun stuff….

In & Out Burger recently opened it’s first two locations in Texas this week!  I am so excited about this and can’t wait to get my grubby little paws on one again 😉

Here I am enjoying my very 1st In & Out Burger a few years ago in Vegas:

We’ve been playing outside a lot these days and I captured these pics of Connor last night….it just amazes me how fast he is growing these days!  He looks like such a big boy now!
Hope ya’ll have a great weekend!!!

Happy 30th

Terence turns 30 today!
He was a good sport this morning and wore the “30” glasses!  I love you so much and you are the best husband, dad, and friend I could ever ask for.  I’m so glad I get to spend my life with you!

Terence’s Mom, Dad, and our niece Arielle came over before I left for work to eat birthday waffles.  Their family has been doing birthday waffles since Terence was a kid 🙂  I’m so glad they came and we got to celebrate together!

We are going to celebrate again this Saturday and go out to dinner.  I love you babe and I hope you have a great day today!  Happy 30th and many more to come…….

xoxo Becky
