Halloween at Work 2010

Our theme for Halloween at work this year was
“Sports Mascots”

Most of us just wore sports themed shirts. I wore my Razorback shirt because I had to represent my home state AR right??? I wanted to be a little bit Halloweeny so I threw in a red witch hat 🙂 You can see our pictures from Halloween 2009 HERE

We have WAY too much fun on Halloween!
Enjoying my Starbucks this morning!
I went through the drive through and when I got to the window to pay for my drink the lady said the car in front of me had already paid for my drink! How sweet!
It made my day 🙂

Last night I met up with a sweet gal who reads my blog named Amber and her cutie pie Kylon. We had a lot of fun walking around the mall and shopping. We stopped in Godiva and had a chocolate too! They were SO nice and I’m happy to have met them! Hopefully we can get together again soon!

Isn’t he a cutie???

This is pretty much what Connor looked like the whole night at the mall. He just stared at Kylon like “Wow he’s such a BIG boy!” Maybe someday I will be that big too 🙂

Nana & Poppy sent Connor a 1st Halloween card with some $$$ to buy a trick-or-treat.
Connor says “Thank you Nana and Poppy” I will get a nice treat to play with! I love you!
HOPE YOU ALL HAVE A WONDERFUL HALLOWEEN WEEKEND!!!!
Oh! The winner of the Halloween twin contest is KAREN!!!!
(I owe you a drink Karen & I know you’ll enjoy!)
I am on the LEFT in all the photos!

Summer, you mean so much to me and words cannot express how I feel right now or what I want to say to you. I know your heart is aching and you are hurting so badly for your Daddy. We will all be praying for you and remembering Daddy Butch along with you in our hearts and minds. I thank God he brought you in my life as a friend and I wish I could do something for you to ease your pain right now. I would give anything! You are an amazingly strong and beautiful woman and I know your Dad felt blessed by you and you by him just like we are!

Praying for you now…..Love, Becky

Tommee Tippee Travel Bottle Warmer Review

We received a Tommee Tippee travel bottle warmer to review last week. Our family is always on the go so I thought this would come in quite handy!

I’ll show you how it works:
1. Poor your hot water in
2. Screw thermos lid on

READY TO TRAVEL….
3. Here we are at my in-laws house ready to warm up the bottle

4. Press center button & poor hot water into the lid
(Notice how the water pours out slowly through the opening to prevent splash)

5. Warm bottle
The water stayed VERY hot! The thermos was high quality and I loved how the water didn’t dump out, it gently streamed through the opening. I would recommend this if you travel a lot or if you are going on a trip this would be a great thing to have.

Some of the things I would change:
(1) It would be nice if the cup used to warm the bottle fit in a car cup holder, since this is after all a travel bottle warmer.
(2) A lid for the bottle warmer cup would also be nice to prevent splashes and spilling while traveling.
PRODUCT INFO:
•No electricity needed! Great for travel or daycare
•Thermal flask keeps water warm
•Either use warm water to heat up bottles or jars in warming carafe or use warm water to make up fresh feeds
BPA and Phthalate free

All in all you could tell it was a high quality product and bottom line it did the job VERY well!
Thanks Tommee Tippee for another great baby product!!!

First Football Game

How was everyone’s weekend?
It’s MONDAY again….it feels like these weekends fly by!
We had a good restful weekend with lots of rain and some nasty weather!

Apparently there was a tornado that touched down in our neighborhood!!! I had no idea until I read the news today and there was an article in there about OUR neighborhood. (Thanks Adam!)
”Residents spent Saturday staring at the damage left behind after an intense bout of storms that hit North Texas.
Resident Mike Roy was missing a large trampoline; he later found it propped up against a neighbor’s fence two blocks away. He was also missing a playhouse and a children’s swimming pool that was full of sand.
Damage was visible elsewhere in the neighborhood. Windows were smashed, and wooden fences appeared to be pried apart like straw. Large pieces of wood protruding from the ground served as subtle reminders of how dangerous the storm could have been.
“So much damage in such a short amount of time, it’s unbelievable,”
We didn’t have any damage to our house thank God!

We also took Connor to his first TCU football game on Saturday night. We lasted until the beginning of the 3rd quarter then we had to go because the little guy was getting restless and we were out of bottles. We went with cousin Katy & her fiancé Michael, & Aunt Trisha. I thought it was a lot of fun, but next time we’ll probably do it without the baby. It was really cold out Saturday night so I’m glad we brought jackets. Of course the next day it was mid 80’s again! Boo! I am ready for this fall weather to STICK around for a bit and I hope it’s cool this weekend for Halloween.
Here are some pics of the game and our weekend :

“Go Frogs!”

Daddy and Connor watching the game
It’s hard to get us all looking at the camera these days!
My hair Afro puffed outside because of the weather it was awful!

I think Connor may have some of his Mommy’s curls
This is right after his bath..ha..ha..

We have the Ickies

I’ve been out of commission on the computer this week because we have all been a bunch of sickies in our house. Connor sounds like Darth Vader according to his Aunt Rebecca! LOL! He is so conjested and I don’t know what to do to help him at this age because most medications are for 2 years and older. Poor little guy 🙁

Halloween is right around the corner….are ya’ll going to dress up? I want to, but I have NO idea what I would be! I have been baking a lot lately and I’ll post the recipe to the cream cheese banana bread below. I was looking at Halloween cakes today and look at these creepy cakes…….
eeeek!
This one is really cute!

Yikes!

BANANA BREAD RECIPE

3/4 cup butter
softened
8 ounces cream cheese softened
2 cups sugar
2 large eggs
3 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups mashed bananas (about 4 medium)
1 cup chopped pecans
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Serves 12-24

350 degrees for 1 hour

And a new video! Connor is 7 1/2 months now and he’s learning very quickly! Daddy and I were “click click clicking” with our tongue and he picked up on it and did it too! It was so cute!
