My Man is Spicy What Can I Say? #PersonalFeast #Velveeta

Terence and I both work full-time jobs and most of the time we are running around like chickens with our heads off. The most dreaded moment of the day for me is “What’s to eat???” I am the WORST at meal planning and cooking a decent meal for my family. We can’t afford to eat out every single day because that would eat up our entire food budget. I’m always on the look out for quick, easy, filling meals for Terence and I. As the Mom and Wife of our family I feel responsible for putting a decent meal on the table or packing a healthy lunch. Terence is especially hard because he wants something filling and good. He always says he can’t eat “girly” food for lunch. Ha ha!

I think what he means is he just wants his stomach to be full and not have to visit an all you can eat buffet. I sent him off to work today with a Velveeta Cheesy Skillets Singles. He said it was really really good! His favorite was the Chicken Chili Cheese Mac. He has over an hour commute to and from work every day, so I know getting an important lunch to hold him over until dinner is important.

The best part is I can feed my man without breaking the bank. These yummy meals were just $2.48 at my local Wal-mart. Terence said it was cheesy and spicy and it filled him up! I saw these camera bookshelf decoration thing-y’s at HomeGoods and LOVED them! They would be so cute in a bookshelf wouldn’t they?

I’m throwing a baby shower for a dear friend in August. Her colors are gold, mint, and coral. I’m trying to come up with some fun food and decor ideas. If you have any please share!!! I got a new purse a couple of weeks ago. It’s another Latico Leather purse. I cannot say to you enough how much I love these! The leather is so soft and light. The bag is by far my fave: A crossbody, large enough to fit all my crap, and doesn’t weigh down my shoulder. This cute airplane shelf was in Pottery Barn Kids. How cute is this? It’s an airplane! I cannot wait to take Connor to see the new Planes movie coming out in a couple of weeks!

I finally tried this pre-mixed Starbucks caramel macchiatto. It’s not too bad for a pre-mixed coffee drink. It’s still not as good as the real thing, but if I’m desperate I’ll drink it! Mustache post-it’s

Weekend With Friends

We had a great weekend! My best friend Sara and her family came to visit from Arkansas. They took their boys to Lego Land and then we met up with them on Saturday to spend some time together. We visited the Grapevine Aquarium. I’ll talk more about that in another post. It was SO much fun! Connor is really into the ocean and fish right now.

Then Terence and Connor went home for a nap while Sara and I conquered IKEA. I love that store, I actually haven’t been in a year or so….but they have new things all the time. I tried to warn Sara how big it is. I think when we got in she was overwhelmed with the whole thing. If you’ve never been to an IKEA then it’s a LOT to take in! It’s huge and is full of everything you could think of for a home. The kids area is my favorite.

After IKEA we headed to Stonebriar Mall. There was this crazy restaurant in the middle of the mall where all the food comes out on conveyer belts. It’s called Wasabi Sushi. We passed it and I just had to take a picture because it reminded me of something out of the future.

We also visited a favorite store of mine called Love Sac. I just ADORE these humongous bean bags. They are so comfortable you can just fall into them and curl up for hours.Later that night Terence’s sister came over to babysit so we could have a double date. We ate at The Cheesecake Factory. We ate ourselves silly and reminisced about old times. We had a great visit….then we had to wheel ourselves out to the parking lot we were so full!

King of the Grill #kidsgrill #LittleTikes

Connor wants to be just like his Daddy. Terence grills a lot during the summer months and Connor loves watching him cook outside. He wants to be involved in everything we do. We recently got a Little Tikes Backyard kids grill set for Connor to play with. Now he can be just like his Daddy! He loves grilling and he’s already made us a hot dog at least 10 times a day this week! The grill also makes sounds and has lighting to give it the effect of real grilling. He is having so much fun with this new toy.

I put this together, which says a lot. I’m not handy at all, but I had this kids grill ready to play with in about 8-10 minutes.

The other day I stopped by my fave Seattle’s Best Coffee and picked up a new bacon, egg, and cheese bagel sandwich. It was delish!

That’s what I have in my bag right now. Connor is 3 years old and he now carries most of his necessities in his own backpack, which is awesome! He keeps Pull-Ups, extra underwear, extra clothes, socks, Dr. Smith’s Diaper Ointment, and some toys.

These are some of my favorite things and also things that I carried when Connor was a young baby….

The Boy is Back in Town

My sweet boy has been in Arkansas for a whole week! He was supposed to be there for two weeks but we picked him up early. He had a great time bonding with his Nana & Poppy. My BFF Sara is coming to visit next weekend and I’m so excited!!! We got him this weekend so we’d be able to visit with her and her family. I missed my cuddle bug. He’s getting so big! He’s really tall for 3. Anytime we go out people say “He’s only 3?”

Had a great week with the hubs getting to do our own things and catching up on some DVR. But really what did we do before Connor came along? We had 8 1/2 years before a kiddo….it’s crazy how your mind works.
