Connor’s Closet Makeover

Our little boy is growing up.  Along with that he has surplus of tiny cars and toys galore.  Every year The Container Store puts there Elfa shelving on sale.  We almost bit the bullet last year and did this…but finally we got it done and I think it was a GREAT investment!
Instead of getting him a dresser we wanted to do built in drawers in the closet.  This way they are out of the way and he has more space to play in his bedroom.  He was thrilled with it too!  We are working on not climbing the shelves!  Now we have a place to put all his toys, clothes, and tiny cars.
I’ve done some re-arranging since these photos, but overall I’m very happy with it!

Some other things I wanted to note:

  • I wanted to share about a fundraiser for Aaron & Abby Willis.  “Aaron & Abby Willis delivered their first baby boy, Jonah Bentley Willis on February 1st, 2012; he was stillborn. God blessed them with another sweet baby boy, Harper Bailey Willis. Abby went into preterm labor & delivered Harper on October 18, 2012. They were blessed to have Harper for 3 and a half hours until he joined sweet Jonah in Heaven. The doctors later discovered that Abby has a bicornuate uterus & have advised Aaron & Abby that they do not need to get pregnant again, but that …a Gestational Carrier would be a way for them to have their own child. The money raised through this fundraiser will go towards Aaron & Abby’s IVF and Gestational Carrier expenses.              Please help us help Aaron & Abby in realizing their dream to bring home a child of their own to love here on Earth. Cookbooks are $15 each. For anyone that wants their cookbook shipped once it comes in, please add a flat shipping rate of $5 to your order.                                                      Please MAKE CHECKS PAYABLE to Sarah Murphy (Baby Willis Acct). Payment/donations can also be made via Paypal to ebrazel83@gmail.com”  FACEBOOK SITE
  •  Also really loved reading Kristen’s post today…mother to mother you should never judge someone’s decision to have only one child.  And if you do then keep it to yourself.
  • I have really enjoyed reading all of your Blogger Biggest Loser posts!  Ya’ll are doing so awesome!  I saw a lot of you using the “My Fitness Pal” App.  I am going to try that and see how it works!!! Thank you!!!!

Blogger Biggest Loser {Week 2}

Well, this week was not the easiest for me.  Connor had the flu early last week and I also wasn’t feeling good.  I got on a z pak and started feeling better in a few days.  I’ve been doing pretty good about staying away from sweets and things like that.  I still need to watch my carb intake more.

Do any of you have an XBox Kinect?  If so, there is a new Nike game out and it’s a great workout.  If you have it we can exercise together!!!  Let me know if you want to do that.

It’s back to work and it seems like the days are long, but then again they fly by.  We got Connor’s curls cut off yesterday.  It was a little shorter than I wanted….but it’s only hair and it will grow!

So-I didn’t do as good as I would like this week….but here are my week 2 stats:
Last week’s weight:  174
Weight today:  172
Difference: -2 lbs.  Not too bad.  But not significant either, I can’t complain.
Hope you all are doing good and staying motivated!
Can’t wait to read all your weekly updates for week two!
xoxo Becky

Valentine’s Day Photos

Connor and I were having a little fun yesterday playing around for Valentine’s Day.  I put a paper tablecloth on the garage door and got a few balloons blown up.  It was hard to keep him focused on not playing around with the balloons….but I think we got a few good ones for a potential Valentine’s day card?  Future bachelor???

“Will you except this balloon?”

Pez Who Knew?

Hope you all are having a good Friday.  Doesn’t it stink coming back from having all those days off during the holiday season and now it’s back to the daily grind?  I’m sort of glad things have calmed down and are back to normal. Connor and I both have been sick this past week and slowly but surely are getting better.  Every time I turn on the news it scares me because they make the flu sound like the plague or something.  My poor nephew Jarrett had to go home from daycare yesterday because he got the flu.  He is miserable!  Please keep him in your prayers.
Also-  Thank you so much ladies for all the OH SO KIND comments about expecting a baby when you are NOT.  It made me feel better to know I’m not the only one that get’s asked that question!  Seriously, thank you for all the pep talks.  Love yuns.
Connor asks me almost every day when I pick him up after work if I have a surprise for him.  I didn’t have one the other night but I came home with a Toy Story Woody Pez.  OMG.  You would think it was the best thing ever.  He has that thing in his little hands at all times now.  Who know?  Pez….you are awesome!
Yep.  Spoiled rotten little stinker.
Gotta love him.
Hope you all have a blessed weekend!
(And keep up the good work Biggest Loser contestants!!!  I will announce some of the prizes next week and we may do some weekly prizes as well to keep you motivated!)

Are you Expecting???

This is a question you must never ask unless you KNOW that you KNOW the person is in fact expecting.  Why oh why do people blurt out this stupid question when they know better!

I’ve been asked this ever so delightful question a few times this year.  What do you want me to say “No I’m not pregnant I’m just FAT!” Now move over so I can run outta here and get a candy bar!  While I’m turning red in the face and embarrassed….it’s gotta be more embarrassing for them right?  Wrong.

Point and case:  While shopping at Buy Buy Baby this weekend looking at booster seat for our (almost 3 year old) I found a few baby clothes on the clearance rack for my expectant sister in law.  I grabbed them and then I had to run to the restroom so I handed the clothes to Terence.  While I was in the restroom the sales lady asked him if I was expecting….ha ha!  He said no, but I bet she wishes she was.

Now, I know we were in a BABY store…but still.  Also, I was wearing one of the ever-so-popular Piko shirts.  Ahem….yeah I knew it would make me look preggers, but that’s okay because atleast it hides my muffin top.  I’ll continue to wear them because they are soft and comfy and I like them 😛

Then I come out and start talking to the lady and she repeats herself AGAIN….”yeah I asked your husband if you were expecting?”  Uhhhhmmmm….and what did he say???  DUH. He said no.  So why are you asking me again.  Do you want to sell a product in your store because right now I just want to run out of here….no nerve whatsoever.  Seriously. I. Die.

My point is just don’t do it.  It makes a woman who may have eaten too many Twinkies Little Debbies (because Twinkies are now extinct) feel like a piece of crap and want to lay on the floor.

Just DON’T do it.

Okay done with my rant….

I also want to enter the I Heart Faces Challenge this week!

It’s so hard to choose just ONE photo…but if I must I shall try:

2 of my favorite photos of Connor (2012)

The Things They Do

I am so overwhelmed by the response and comments on the Biggest Loser contest.  It just blesses my day to hear all your stories.  I’m still catching up on reading the posts, sorry about that.  I’m getting some great prizes donated for this contest and I’m so excited to share soon!
This is my week so far:
Friday: Connor got sick and started running a fever. I left work early to go pick him up.  We were lucky to get an appt with the pediatrician the next morning.  He was diagnosed with the flu.  He’s been on Tamiflu and seems to be doing well now!
Saturday:  I start feeling bad, so my Dr calls me in some Tamiflu only to find out it’s $190!!! No.Thank.You.Very.Much.  So I’ve been toughing it out.  We were pretty much hermits all weekend until we got out to go to the grocery store.  Thank goodness for my sanity sake.
Monday: I went to see my PCP and I still have a head cold/infection of some kind.  I feel like I’m in a complete fog and my ears keep popping.  Hopefully the z-pak will work it’s way into my system soon because I’m tired of feeling like death. Ugh.
So it’s not been the best week, but I’m still trying to count my calories and watch myself!
We have a lot going on and I’ll be at the Fort Worth Stock Show for a whole month every Saturday.  If you are out that way come by and say hi!
Other than that I have lots of work to do at work and at home….my plate is full my friends.  Very full.
Funny kid does the darnedest things.  He eats his Cheerios just like his Daddy.  He even drinks the milk from the bowl 🙂
We have also been looking into a pre-school for Connor boy.  I think we’ve found one we like and he’ll be officially starting “school” soon!  I think he’s pretty excited!
We are also doing a closet makeover in Connor’s room.  They install on Saturday and I can’t wait to see the end results!  I’ll try to do a before and after.  That’s about it for us!  Prayers appreciated for getting well…I’m tired of this sicky business. :/
