It’s so hot here in Texas during the summer time.  Our outdoor patio area/backyard could use a major overhaul!  I’ve been looking on Kmart.com at the Kmart Outdoor Living Online Catalog and have found several things I can envision in our back yard.  Right now we have absolutely nothing to sit on and I’d love to find a nice patio set.  #KmartOutdoor has a great selection.

First I created a board on Polyvore with all the items I envisioned for my dream outdoor oasis.

This is our backyard patio now…
I think it needs some inspiration don’t you???

Polyvore is a super easy and a great way to keep track of what you find so you can remember later on.  I can just see all those summer celebrations right now!  I love the red bistro set and the pirate pool.  I can see Terence and I outside sitting there watching Connor play in the pool.

Kmart Outdoor Getaway

Shopping on Kmart.com was extremely easy.  Anytime I was looking for something specific I just typed a key word in the search box at the top of the screen.  Isn’t this outdoor gazebo amazing?

We planted flowers in our front and side flower beds, but have yet to address our back yard.
We even added a favorite flag 🙂
I love these planters for the backyard on the Kmart.com website!

The Hare Shop {Giveaway}

My good friend Sarah just started up a new shop called “The Hare Shop

She makes the cutest headbands and hair bows.

Sarah Says:

“I love anything with bows on it. It’s a cute and simple design on anything! I also love hair accessories and love making it! Currently the HARE shop works with brass/metal zipper materials and vintage inspired buttons. It is a unique design and hair accessory to add to your own wardrobe”
My favorite color is green so she gave me this green headband:
 Isn’t it so cute???
She also gave me this pink one to give away to a reader!  Yay!!!
She’s also give The Java Mama readers a 10% discount.

Peter Pan (Dallas Summer Musicals}

Last night I headed to Dallas to see the musical Peter Pan.  It was WONDERFUL!!!  It was just as great as I would expect any Broadway play to be.  The acting and music were superb.  Former Olympian Cathy Rigby did a great job as Peter Pan, I’m always weary when a woman is playing….but she did a great job and has such an amazing athletic ability.

PETER PAN is presented by Dallas Summer Musicals July 10-22, 2012 at the Music Hall at Fair Park.

This show is appropriate for all ages.

“Tony Award nominee Cathy Rigby takes flight in an all new production of Peter Pan! Discover the magic all over again of this two time Emmy award winning and two time Tony award nominated production. The New York Times says “Rigby still carries off the flights, fights and acrobatics that make Peter Pan audiences mesmerized.” Peter Pan is filled with timeless magical moments and a captivating hook. The legend you thought you know, is now the adventure you never dreamed possible… Cathy Rigby is Peter Pan!”

I had such a great night with friends and we enjoyed a fabulous play.  If you live in the DFW area I would highly recommend you go check this out!

After all you’re never too old to visit Never Land right???  And…..at the very end there is a special surprise!  You just have to go check it out 😉

Adventures in Babysitting

I used to LOVE this movie!!!

We didn’t have quite that adventure.  We did get to keep our niece Ellie the other night and it was so much fun!  She and Connor get to spend every day together while I’m at work, but I never get to see them interact together.  They love each other so much and are just like brother and sister 🙂

These two are less than a day apart….isn’t that cool?

Cousins eating popcorn watching Elmo’s ABC’s
 Playing with toys
 Bounce Bounce Bounce!!!
If you’ll notice Connor has two bandaids on his knees.  He BEGS to wear bandaids! LOL!  I don’t know what it is but he just loves them….he did fall and have boo boos on both knees though.

Bedtime was the hardest part.  We ended up having to put them in separate rooms because they couldn’t sleep without distracting one another.  It was a rough night because Connor was excited she was there and she was in an unfamiliar place.  Once we got Ellie to sleep she slept through the night…but Connor ended up in our bed around 1 am & didn’t sleep a lick that night!

Anyway, we had a great time playing and spending time together and can’t wait until our next sleepover!

Don’t forget ya’ll…..today is free slurpee day at 7-11!!!!

Diamonds & Chocolate

I ordered my very first Diamond Candle.  My sister told me about these last year.  She’s ordered a few and so have some friends.  There was a deal on Plum District a few weeks ago so I ended up getting it for around $5!  I ordered the Gingerbread Latte scent and it smells delicious!  They are also soy based & I like that.

This is the ring I had in my candle.  I think it’s PROBABLY fake???  Ya think?  I still like it and it’s a very pretty ring!  The rings are usually about a 1/3 of the way down the candle.  You can be patient and wait for it to burn or dig it out like me 😛

 Rings can be worth $10, $100, $1000, or $5000!
I’ve seen a lot of people win real diamond rings on their Facebook page 🙂
 So excited!!!

And now for the chocolate part…..

Sarah over at Life {Sweet} Life posted this recipe and I HAD to try it!
SYMPHONY BROWNIES
1 box of brownie mix
2 king size Symphony bars
(Bake brownies normally and just put 1/2 the batter on bottom.  Top with Symphony bars.  Then cover with the rest of the batter and bake!)

 YUM!
I brought them up to work so we don’t eat them at home 😉

Painting Zebras

I let Connor paint with the eco-kids paint we got in our Citrus Lane box last month.
He had a fun time painting his “Zebra” or at least that’s what he said it was.  Silly boy!
Love him with all my heart.

Love you boo boo….I’ll be home soon!
