Iâve lived in the great state of Texas for almost five years now. My husband is from Fort Worth. We met and married in Arkansas, then he moved me here to the âbig city.” Everyone back home likes to come to Texas to shop and check out all the attractions. I had always loved to visit, so I knew I would love living here too!
Texas has a wide variety of museums, shopping and restaurants to choose from. There is so much to do here itâs almost impossible to get bored. In our area of DFW (Fort Worth) we like to go hiking and be outdoors. We also enjoy visiting Cedar Hill State Park & Dinosaur Valley State Park. Itâs so nice to get out in nature and clear our heads. Connor LOVES being outside and the lakes are just gorgeous!
It doesnât take long to feel that Texas pride!
On one of our many hiking adventures

Fort Worth also has one of the best zoos Iâve ever been to. There is a choo- choo train that goes all around the zoo and itâs perfect for kids. A must-see in the city is the Fort Worth Water Gardens. Itâs a manmade waterfall paradise. It’s also where Terence proposed to me almost 12 years ago!

The Botanical Gardens is one of our favorite places to picnic and take pictures. The Japanese garden is so beautiful — the plants and flowers are breathtaking. If you’re looking for the Old West, you’ve come to the right place, partner! The Fort Worth Stock Yards feature a winery, the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame and lots of Mexican food! You can take in a rodeo and spot more cowboys than youâve ever seen in your entire life.
Downtown Fort Worth is a hopping place to be as well. At Sundance Square youâll find live music and lots of great BBQ & Mexican restaurants. Fort Worth is a fantastic place to live and it has a wonderful down-home feel.
When we want to escape our city for a bit we always head to our neighboring city Dallas.
Dallas has some of the best shopping youâll find and a wide variety of restaurants. The Galleria and North Park Mall are two great places to shop. One of my favorite places is Sprinkles Cupcakes. Iâd drive 100 miles to get one of those!
Weâve also been to the Dallas Aquarium and it was a blast! Youâll see all sorts of sea life and other animals up close and personal.

I guess this is the way they do burgers in Texas:
Dallas hosts so many great concerts and sporting events. Itâs the home of the Texas Rangers and the Dallas Cowboys. Texans are some of the proudest people Iâve ever met and Iâm starting to understand why. They have so much to be proud of! Texas is such a huge state that some say itâs almost like its own country. There is so much to do here and so much variety. And you know what? I am starting to believe everything is bigger and better in Texas! Texas has been good to me and Iâm proud to call it my home. Pavement
Our pastor told this story a couple weeks ago and I thought it was funny….yet so true!
There once was a rich man who was near death. He was very grieved because he had worked so hard for his money and he wanted to be able to take it with him to heaven. So he began to pray that he might be able to take some of his wealth with him.
An angel hears his plea and appears to him. “Sorry, but you can’t take your wealth with you.” The man implores the angel to speak to God to see if He might bend the rules.
The man continues to pray that his wealth could follow him. The angel reappears and informs the man that God has decided to allow him to take one suitcase with him. Overjoyed, the man gathers his largest suitcase and fills it with pure gold bars and places it beside his bed.
Soon afterward the man dies and shows up at the Gates of Heaven to greet St. Peter. St. Peter seeing the suitcase says, “Hold on, you can’t bring that in here!”
But, the man explains to St. Peter that he has permission and asks him to verify his story with the Lord. Sure enough, St. Peter checks and comes back saying, “You’re right. You are allowed one carry-on bag, but I’m supposed to check its contents before letting it through.”
St. Peter opens the suitcase to inspect the worldly items that the man found too precious to leave behind and exclaims, “You brought pavement?!!!”
$100 Target Gift Card Giveaway+Orajel Review
Teething babies are for the birds.
Most moms can tell when their child is teething because they are cranky, drooling, have a runny nose, and even have a fever. Connor just turned 2 years old, and we are still dealing with teething issues. Itâs not as continuous as the first year, but cutting those molars is a bear!
Iâve been up many nights with a teething baby and had to get up the next day and go to work. Anything that helps alleviate the pain for him and gives me a good night of rest is a God send.
I recently received Baby Orajel Naturals Teething Tablets to try.
First, let me say Iâve always carried a tube of Orajel in my purse because you never know when you may need it.

I gave a Baby Orajel Naturals Teething Tablet to Connor for the first time, and he swallowed it like a champ. He felt immediate pain relief, and there was absolutely NO sour look on his face! He actually asked for another one! Ha ha!
I could tell immediately that it soothed his gums. The tablets dissolve in about 10 seconds so itâs fast, easy, and works! Baby Orajel Naturals Teething Tablets is the first and only homeopathic offering from the #1 teething brand, Baby Orajel.
Connor has a nice set of chompers now, but we are not out of the woods yet. Iâve always trusted the Baby Orajel brand with my child, and itâs never let me down. I have to say that this  particular product is by far my favorite from Orajel.
Baby Orajel Naturals Teething Tablets contain Chamomilla as one of its key ingredients, which means itâs calming and helps with inflammatory issues. Baby Orajel Naturals Teething Tablets are belladonna-free, benzocaine-free, dye-free, alcohol-free and paraben-free.
Next time your baby is drooling and fussy due to teething pain I would highly recommend Baby Orajel Naturals Teething Tablets. I wouldnât recommend anything to other moms I wouldnât give to my own child. You will be so thrilled with this product because you AND your baby will finally get some much needed relief!

Baby Shower for Julie
This weekend I threw a baby shower for my good friend and co-worker Julie. It thrilled my heart to be able to do this for her! I’m so excited for baby Allie to be here! Ever since I moved to Fort Worth almost 5 years ago Julie and I have worked together. She has always been so good to me and I’m so blessed to have her as a friend!
It was the first shower I’ve ever thrown solo. So I was nervous that everything would turn out okay….but I was also super excited for some PINK đ Yay!
So here are Julie’s shower pictures….

High Five it’s Friday!
I love how he goes and watches movies in our bed…..
I adore this graphite color Longchamp tote. And you can get it monogrammed for free! I love the blue one I got in Paris, but I already want another color! I love these bags because they are so light weight on your shoulder and don’t weigh you down. *It would make a great Mother’s Day gift* *cough* *cough*
Disaster….it’s pointless to put books on a bookshelf in a two year old’s room!
