Good Friday

May we all remember what today is truly about. Jesus was crucified on Good Friday and rose from the dead on Easter Sunday. I hope you all get a chance to truly reflect on the sacrifice Jesus Christ made for all of us.  Without Him we would not be here today.  He gave His life for us so that we might live!
Praise God!!!
John 11:25-26

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die.

Matthew 27:50-53
And when Jesus had cried out again in a loud voice, he gave up his spirit. At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth shook and the rocks split. The tombs broke open and the bodies of many holy people who had died were raised to life. They came out of the tombs, and after Jesus’ resurrection they went into the holy city and appeared to many people.

That you Lord for giving us life.  Thank you Lord for my family, friendships, my country, a home, employment, food on our table, and love that abounds.  Praise be to God!

I know a lot of us celebrate Easter with family and friends by eating a good meal or having an Easter egg hunt.  Just remember when you do those things to remember what Easter is really about.  I’ve always looked forward to Easter and it’s one of my favorite holidays.  We are having and Easter egg hunt….maybe when your kids crack open the eggs in their baskets they can remember the tomb being opened and Jesus resurrection?  And while you’re eating that delicious meal with family you can reflect on the last supper Jesus had and how good that meal must have been!
I’m going to miss my family this year :

Girls Night Out!

With kiddos that is…..
Last night Amber and our boys met up at the Olive Garden for dinner.  They boys ate their weight in bread sticks and alfredo & the Moms got some fab drinks! I wanted to get together and check on my gal.  She’s doing so well and staying so strong after everything that’s happened in the last week.
The blogging community has been so wonderful & I know Amber was so thankful for all the donations received for her and the boys 🙂  You all are so amazing, the way God works through this community is even MORE amazing!  Such a blessing.  THANK YOU WITH ALL MY HEART.
Amber and baby Kaydon.  He’s getting so big already!
Connor & Kylon coloring and throwing silverware all over the restaurant

Look at that alfredo sauce dripping down their faces???

It was so precious.  Kylon was wearing a Thomas the Train shirt.  It had clouds on it and he turned to Connor and pointed to the clouds and said “That’s Heaven and that’s where my Daddy’s at”

Melt.my.heart.

Bless that child.  That made my day.

I had a great time Amber.  Know I am praying for you and thinking of you constantly and we are always here for you!  You have been such a blessing in my life and thank you for being such a wonderful friend!

Personal Style Choices

During the summer I love to wear lightweight clothing. Lots of loose, flowy, chiffon type tops. Here in Texas it gets so hot I don’t want to wear something heavy that causes pit stains!

I don’t consider myself a “fashionista”.  To be honest I get intimidated by a lot of the fashion bloggers I read about because they have such great style.

Below is a sampling of some things I love.  These are things I would probably gravitate towards while shopping.  I also have to ask myself “Is this something I can wear to work as well as on the weekends?”

Let me ask you this :
How do you find your fashion voice and cultivate your personal style?
For me I think I’m inspired by watching other people around me.  I read magazines and blogs.  I don’t try to fit into something that isn’t me.  But I don’t want to be in Mom jeans either.  I like a relaxed, yet stylish look.  What about you?

Summer Time & TCU Baby

Summer Summer Summer time…
At least that’s what it feels like right now.
After an incredibly mild winter we are already in the 90’s here in Texas.  I hope I survive the summer of 2012!  We are enjoying the weather right now.  Terence revamped our flower bed last weekend and it looks so purdy!
While Terence worked on the flower bed I cleaned the inside of our house.  That’s the deal in our house, he has the outside, and I have the inside….although during the winter months I think he has the better deal 😉
Terence went golfing Saturday, I wish he would do that more often.  I think it’s good for his sanity to have “guy time”.  Good for my sanity too.  Connor and I just hung out, played, read books and watched Toy Story 3 for the 100th time.  I found a Woody doll at Target.  It was $40.  I got the doll because I got over excited about it and the thought of excitement on his face.  When I got home I had major buyers remorse over a doll.  A doll?  I mean who spends $40 on a doll?  ME.  Who am I???
(For now we’ll just watch the movie)
Not to mention Connor was underwhelmed by Woody anyway….I am taking it back to the store ASAP.
I need to learn not to impulse buy.  Just buy what we need….not things that will only provide temporary joy.  Things are just things after all. Stuff.  And I don’t need more stuff!
My BFF Kristin at Sugar & Spice Kids Boutique made Connor the cutest TCU shirt!
So we had a little photo shoot last time because the weather was so nice 🙂
Side note about pictures on blogs:
(I am a very visual person, and photos are important to me.  I love having photos and sharing them on the blog.  Some folks may think I post too many photos…but there can never be too many in my book!  I think some people need more photos on their blog.  Hello?  What is Pinterest anyways…..it’s PICTURES!  And people LOVE pictures!  There is a difference between posting Internet or magazine type photos over life photos.  I prefer to blog my own photos…..it’s more interesting to me….. Obviously.  Okay enough of that!)
The littlest TCU fan 🙂

 He looks so big

Hope ya’ll are having a great week!
