Lots of Stuff

Well yesterday was pretty much the worst Valentines day….

 

  • Connor threw up yesterday morning from congestion a few times…like I said…on the carpet
  • I got a speeding ticket on my way to work in a school zone. (To my defense I WAS NOT IN THE SCHOOL ZONE YET…I drove by again this morning just to double check and I wasn’t in the school zone….)  I was going 35.  Coming down a hill and yes, I would have slowed down in the school zone.  When the officer pulled me over I counted not one, but three motorcycles in front of us with cars pulled over!!!  AND-he did a freaking U-turn in the middle of traffic going the opposite direction just to pull me over??? Is that even legal?  Of course I cried like a baby…what the heck is wrong with me???  There are worse things in life…..
  • Connor and Terence are both sickies.  I swear I watched Terence go through an entire box of tissues on the sofa last night.
  • We were supposed to meet with our attorney yesterday to finalize our will.  I left work early only to get caught up in traffic on the freeway for 45 minutes due to an accidents and two lanes being closed down…we missed our appointment and now have to reschedule.
On a brighter note.  We switched cable companies and are getting three months of free premium channels.  We started watching Homeland last night and I LOVE IT.  I don’t miss Jack Bauer and 24 so much now???
In other news:
Thank you for all the compliments on my top yesterday.  I ordered it from a store called Tobi.  When I ordered it was 30% off.  I absolutely love it!  On the website it’s classified as a “dress”.  Ahhaaaahhh!!! Well it is a dress if you weigh 90 pounds…but as you can see on me it’s a shirt.  I have a size large & wore it sort of bloused over and it works just fine for me 😉  I think it runs small though…..

 I made my Valentines a heart pizza last night….
I have a prayer request.  My cousin Adam pictured below with his beautiful baby girl Claire.  
Cassidy, his wife delivered the baby and had a amniotic fluid embolism.  I believe she has been in a coma…that’s the last I heard.  I think she is improving but has a long road ahead.  This condition is very rare and can be fatal.  I can’t imagine giving birth to my child and never waking up to hold them or see their face.  Please pray for healing and strength for the family right now.  I know prayer works wonders!!!
My heart is just aching for them…..

Also- My sister in law Kim wrote a book called “Hopper the Lonely Frog” and it’s available for FREE download right now on Amazon!!!  I’m so proud of her 🙂

It’s a great book for children and I’m sure she would be thrilled if you read her first book!

We are planning a low key night at home and I am going to make my boys dinner.  I still haven’t watched Smash from last night either.  We had a rough morning.  Everyone has been stopped up and Connor threw up a few times on my carpet….it’s always on the carpet.  Sigh……
 
Anyone have a go to carpet cleaning recipe for milk on carpet???

Celtic Women Giveaway!

You may remember awhile back I was joking about my husband and his love for the Celtic Women.  He even had me go look up concert dates online.  We were watching them one evening and it has to be one of the most beautiful ensembles I’ve ever heard.  These women have such wonderful harmony together.  I can hardly watch them without wanting to get up in the living room and dance around! ha ha!  Seriously I love it!

These are Connor’s 2012 Valentines Day cards…I’m hopefully going to get them in the mail today.  FAIL.
I’m so behind these days…..They are from Tiny Prints & they always do a great job!

We met up with my good friend Karen and her two kiddos at the mall on Saturday.  It was so good to see her because we don’t get together often enough.  With all our kiddos now it’s hard to wrangle everyone!  But she understands my crazy self and I love her 🙂

We’ll have to get together again before the kids hit highschool Karen <3 (I should have got a pic of you for my Starbucks wall…she had a Starbucks in hand when she got to the mall! ha ha!)

 I found these cute little Valentine’s day items:

  • This doggy for Connor from JellyCat.  It’s SOOOOOO soft!
  • Kinder chocolate=Heaven
  • I love these napkins with the banners on them.  I will probably use them for Connor’s party

Working Moms Connect

Today is Working Moms Connect on Kellys Korner Blog.

I really like to meet and connect with other Moms who work outside the home.  Sometimes I feel like I am the only working Mama on the planet and everyone else has the luxury of staying at home. 

I know that’s not true though! 

Everyone does the best they can for their families and I’m doing what is best for mine.

I love my job and the Lord has blessed me with a job I really enjoy going to each day.  I have made lots of friends and I like having the social interaction.  I work 8-5 at a bank and I’ve been here for about 4 1/2 years now.  I love it!

The best part is the end of each day.  I look forward to picking up my boy and seeing his smiley face when he sees me walk through the door.  “Mama Mama!!!”

We also are blessed that my mother/father/sister in law watch Connor each day and it’s family.  I know he’s building great relationships with family members and he loves spending each day with his BFF Ellie (my niece). 

DFW traffic is awful.  I have to say it’s something I dread every.single.day.  But again- it’s just something you get used to and it becomes day to day life.  Sometimes we have meltdowns in the car.  I do the best I can without my head popping off! Ha ha! 

I’ve found that the classical music station is very relaxing and also calms Connor down.

I also always carry cookies and crackers in the car so he has something to munch on.

As you all know if you read my blog…..I am a crack addict.  AKA=Starbucks addict.

I know this is a horrible, expensive habit.  But it gets me through my day and I adore the new Valentines day cups that just came out! Cute eh???

Mama needs coffee to function. DAILY. 

I’ve almost thought about changing my blog name to “Java Mama”

Thoughts????

 My computer at work….a constant reminder of how my booger has grown.  I adore him.

God has blessed me in so many ways.  A question I often get : “Don’t you feel like you are missing out on things with Connor?”  I don’t feel like I am missing out, I feel like I treasure our time that much more.  I’m able to contribute to our family finances and I feel good about that.  We don’t have to live paycheck to paycheck and can take vacations and contribute to a savings account.  I know that what I am doing now will effect our future later on.  And Connor boy always knows I am his Mama and I love him no matter what!
