Our Wedding Shower 2001

I’ve been re-capping a lot of our wedding story lately because Terence and I just celebrated 10 years last week.  I found some photos of our couples shower and saw that Kelly was having a link up today so I thought I would share 🙂
Our shower was at my home church in Conway, AR.  This was also the church we were married in.  We got lots of wonderful things for our home from our sweet church family.
We moved straight into base housing on Little Rock Air Force base…base housing isn’t always the best, so it was fun to register and find things to make our house a home.
My advice to anyone getting married is REGISTER FOR IT ALL!!!  This is probably the only time in your life you’ll get to ask for stuff like this!
Anyway here are a few pics I scanned in from our shower :
 Yummy Food

 Opening our china

Terence has a nice corsage there right?

You can read about our love story :
I’m not finished writing yet though!
My twin sister Bonnie also threw me a lingerie shower….I only have a couple pics from that!  She is naughty!  Ha..ha…I don’t even think I actually wore some of these things!  But it was a lot of fun 🙂

We have our very FIRST DUDE on the Starbucks wall ya’ll!!!
Adam’s lovely wife Christa gave me this picture of him!!!  LOL!
I mean come on now Adam???  What is that a vanilla bean frappuccino???
That doesn’t have any coffee in it!  “Real men drink espresso” Just kidding….

I love getting all your Starbucks pics it cracks me up!
Email me at beckylbranch@gmail.com with yours!
(I will choose the winners for current contests tomorrow & also post “make me over” day with another fab giveaway!)
We’ve got a busy weekend ahead…I’m hosting a jewelry party tomorrow and I think like 3 people are coming…I wish I knew more people here 🙁  Nobody’s coming waaaah!  Maybe I’m just not that exciting?

Pool Boy – The Sequel

If you haven’t heard Texas is experiencing record breaking sizzling weather right now.  I was outside pumping gas the other day & I swear I got a sunburn!  We need rain sooo bad!!!
Last night instead of bathing Connor in the tub I gave him a bath in his pool 🙂
Fun for all & a good cool down!

He’s been doing the Home Alone face a whole lot lately.  It’s hilarious.

Good Deals I’ve Found Lately…

We all love a good bargain right?

Especially now that our economy is in the crapper.

I’m scared and I know a lot of other people are too.  It looks like I’ll be working until I’m 90….that is if I live that long

I do use coupons, but only on things I need.  I don’t buy things for the sake of buying them because that’s just inventory & I don’t want that stuff lying around my house.

In my opinion everything eventually goes on sale.  Everything.

If I see something I really like in the store I generally wait a few months until the end of season sales hit.  You can usually find the same item for 25%-75% of what it was originally priced.  Just be patient.

I also sign up for a lot of store mailing lists.  Whether it’s by postal mail or email, it pays to get on the mailing list and get coupons.  Just by visiting a company’s website and signing up for emails I’ve gotten tons of coupons and deals!  (I usually use my “trash” email account…you know the one you only use for un-important stuff)

These are a few of the bargains I’ve gotten lately :

* The purple fleece is a Patagonia Women’s El Cap Jacket.  It retails for $100 & I got it for $25!
* The cream jacket is a Patagonia Women’s R4 Jacket.  It retails for $250 & I got it for $60!
DOUBLE SCORE!
A few weeks ago I got an email from Pier 1.  It was a $10 off a $10 purchase coupon.  I used it three days in a row and got some awesome stuff!

* I got a couple of these glittery pumpkins.  They retail for $5.95 each, but with my coupon I only paid $1.90.
* The next day I picked up the swirly pumpkin place mat & some other kitchen goodies for FREE!!!
* The last day I found this :
A spice cake scented owl candle, normally $12, but I only paid $2!
SCORE AGAIN!!

I don’t know if you’ve heard, but Border’s Bookstore is going out of business.  I’m so sad about this because I just adore Borders 🙁  BUT-On the other hand everything in the store is on major sale!
*I picked up several Papyrus cards.  They normally are pretty expensive and range from $5-$7 per card.  I scored a whole bunch for $1-$2 each.
* I also scored the Macbeth notepads, normally $7.50 each, for less than $3 each!
I’m sure there are more things I’m forgetting right now….
What deals have you scored lately???

Romantical Weekend

Terence and I had a wonderful anniversary weekend!  T’s parents watched Connor on Friday night so we could spend some time together.  On Friday we went to one of our favorite Mexican restaurants called Anejo and also saw the “Rise of the Planet of the Apes”.  It was a good movie!
On Friday Terence sent me these beautiful flowers to work 🙂
On Saturday we slept in until around 10 am!!!! OMG!!!  That is craziness!!!!
We finally got around and headed out to Dallas for the day.  Of course we stopped for our Starbucks…
FYI – Tomorrow I have something special in store for all you Starbucks lovers!!!  May include some FREE Starbucks for LOTS of you  *wink* *wink*
I have a confession to make :  I took back my IPad.
I was barely using it.  I found myself gravitating towards my desktop computer & I came home each day and never even picked it up.  I guess I had envisioned using it a whole lot more, but come to find out it wasn’t really something I needed….or wanted to keep.  It was nice and has lots of bells and whistles.  But in the end…I just didn’t want it (am I a weirdo???)
So….Terence took me shopping instead.  Because I am a difficult person to find things for!  Poor dude.  I felt bad for taking back the IPad, but in the end I think it’s a better decision.  And a cheaper one 😉
I did however find a purse I loved, so I got this one!  It’s my favorite color green & it’s HUGE 🙂
Also found this 3 tiered serving stand at Sur La Table for $10 bucks!  I am so excited about it!  It was marked down to $20 + I got a coupon in the mail for $10 off a purchase = SCORE!
I also got two new winter coats and some other stuff!  Thanks babe for shopping with me!  We saw yet another movie and then had a late lunch at the Cheesecake Factory and engorged on some Godiva Cheesecake.  And now I must start a diet….all my pants are tight and I’m just over it.  I have got to do something and make a life change.  I love food, but it’s not worth it.  I’m tired all the time and I don’t feel good about myself right now.  I cannot wait to get my Erin Condren planner in!  I really need to get organized and start menu planning.  My biggest struggle is not knowing what to cook & I come home every night exhausted after work and end up throwing in a pizza or something quick in the oven.  Well, this is a whole other blog post in itself…..
Our annual anniversary pic
I thank God every day for you Ter-Bear

I try to take one every year of the two of us…so someday we can look back and see how young we used to look! ha..ha…

And now it’s back to a work week…sigh…

Big thank you to Grana & Pop for taking care of Connor boy while we got to spend time together!
