It’s been quite a challenging first week for us. We are getting in a groove though. Connor is starting to sleep more and my milk is getting better. I am pumping right now and trying to keep a supply in the fridge. We went back to the pediatrician this morning and he is up 1/2 a pound! He loves to suck on his hands and newborn clothing barely fits him! He is a big boy!
I had to get back on some antidepressants because I have been feeling really down. There is absolutely NO reason I should feel down right now…but I don’t want to end up with post pardom and I’m trying to do what is best for me and Connor. Our whole world has changed this week and it’s a WONDERFUL change and when I see my baby’s face I just want to melt. God is so good and I’m so thankful for this little blessing.
Please keep us in your prayers as we continue to figure things out ๐Ÿ™‚

Thank You!

Connor says “thank you” to all my bloggy friends!
All your sweet comments mean so much right now ๐Ÿ™‚
The start of this first week has been challenging, especially since I just cry and cry over nothing sometimes! We are trying to get into a routine and Connor has been really good the past couple of nights. He just wants to be fed and rocked and that’s about all. My Mom and Nannie went home today…and they were a tremendous help! I was sad to see them go because it was so nice to have all that extra help. People tell you how challenging parenting is and how sleep deprived you will be, but you never actually realize that until you are IN it! It’s so worth it when I see my baby happy and look at his face. Terence has been amazing these past few days and he’s the best Daddy ever ๐Ÿ™‚ He helps me so much I am scared when he has to go back to work right now and it will just be the two of us.
Connor had his first pediatrician appt today and he looks great! The only thing is they want us to supplement him with formula right now because he has lost some weight since birth. It breaks my heart because I want to breastfeed and we are just getting in the hang of things, but I also want him to be strong and healthy so today we are starting to supplement. I know he will do well and I will still continue to breastfeed him too.
I guess that is all the updates right now. Thank you all for making me feel so much better and all your sweet comments on baby Connor, they mean so much! XOXO Becky

So Blessed

He looks just like his daddy ๐Ÿ™‚

Here are a few more pictures of Connor’s birthday. I am overwhelmed right now and so happy he is here and safe and healthy. God has given us the greatest gift and we are so thankful. Last night was quite challenging, we both didn’t get any sleep…but it’s all worth it! I’m still in recovery for the c section and things are slowly improving, the hardest thing is not being able to take care of my baby without assistance and getting up and down. I know it will get better though. Breastfeeding has been a challenge too, but it’s also getting a lot better as the days go by and Connor is a big ole boy so he’s always hungry! I’ll update again soon as we get settled….thank you all for your prayers and comments! Much love, Becky

It’s a Boy!

Well, here I am sitting in the hospital room writing my second post (I donโ€™t think this time will take me 15 minutes since I definitely have something to write about ๐Ÿ™‚ ).

Many of you have waited nine months for this moment — Drum Roll Please — Iโ€™m here to announce that Connor James Branch has officially been born. Heโ€™s a whopper at 9 pounds 14 ounces and is 20 ยฝ inches long.

Becky ended up having a c-section (expected) and everything went just fine. Connor is healthy and Iโ€™m sure there will be more to follow.

I ask you continue to pray and support Becky since she will be trying to breastfeed. This can often times be very demanding on the mother; however, Connor seems willing to try (and thatโ€™s a start given heโ€™s never had to do this before!).

Thank you again for being part of our โ€œfamilyโ€.

Blessings to you all,
–Terence

My due date is tomorrow…I am soooo ready!!!

Last night my friend Nicole from high school was in Dallas visiting family and she stopped by with her baby Jack. He was SO cute! It was so nice to see a familiar face from home ๐Ÿ™‚ Come back anytime you guys!

I’m fixing to go put my feet up so I don’t swell and explode! I’ve been extremely swollen, but I know that comes with the territory. I promise to get back into the blogosphere soon!
