This weekend I had the BEST time hosting a Sally Hansen #IHeartMyNailArt Block Party. I invited a few friends and my sister in-laws over for some well deserved Mama pampering. FYI- Mother’s Day is right around the corner, and what Mom doesn’t love a manicure and nail polish? Liz said she needed a “girls” get together….bless her heart she has 5 kids and three are boys! Welcome to the party! Yay!
I’ve always considered myself a “girly girl”. My collection of nail polish is embarrassing. I love to paint my nails, and I also like to be on trend. Right now a big trend in nails is color blocking. Sally Hansen has a vast array of nail polish, nail art pens, nail adhesive strips, and much more! Sally Hansen has the best collection of nail art I’ve ever seen. I got my shop on at Walgreens with my Balance Rewards card in hand. Balance Rewards allow me to collect points to redeem on future purchases and save money.
Once I got all the nail goodies and party set up it was time to have fun! I set up this inspiration board for everyone to look at while painting their nails.
If you don’t know what color blocking is here is an example of what I did:
Color blocking is basically taking two colors and putting them together to create blocks of different solid colors.
We tried a lot of different Sally Hansen products. My favorite is the Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Fast Drying Nail Color. It goes on really smooth and dries fast. Perfect for a Mom on the go who doesn’t have a lot of time to do nails. We also tried Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear Nail Color, which comes in some awesome bold shades. My favorite is Sally Hansen Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips. They last forever and come in such fun patterns.
Everyone’s beautiful nails. We had so much fun!
Someone is stealing food….who could it be?
I chose bright, bold colors to inspire BRIGHT & BOLD nails.
After the party I let everyone take home whatever they wanted and it was so fun to share the love with everyone!
Carb loading before doing our nails…it’s a sport I tell ya! Well, it is an art.
This day was so special because I know most of us don’t get time to pamper ourselves and paint our nails. My sister-in-law Rebecca said she couldn’t even remember the last time she did. OMG! It was a joy to watch everyone having fun and we had great conversation, jammed to Justin Timberlake, and ate good food!
All the girls and their fab nails
Okay, I literally painted my nails 5 minutes before this picture was taken. I used the Sally Hansen Insta-Dri. My nephew, Levi, needed some attention in the living room. I kid you not my nails were dry and didn’t smudge at all….even while holding this chub of love!
