Our Wedding Shower 2001

I’ve been re-capping a lot of our wedding story lately because Terence and I just celebrated 10 years last week.  I found some photos of our couples shower and saw that Kelly was having a link up today so I thought I would share 🙂
Our shower was at my home church in Conway, AR.  This was also the church we were married in.  We got lots of wonderful things for our home from our sweet church family.
We moved straight into base housing on Little Rock Air Force base…base housing isn’t always the best, so it was fun to register and find things to make our house a home.
My advice to anyone getting married is REGISTER FOR IT ALL!!!  This is probably the only time in your life you’ll get to ask for stuff like this!
Anyway here are a few pics I scanned in from our shower :

Terence has a nice corsage there right?

My twin sister Bonnie also threw me a lingerie shower….I only have a couple pics from that!  She is naughty!  Ha..ha…I don’t even think I actually wore some of these things!  But it was a lot of fun 🙂

We’ve got a busy weekend ahead…I’m hosting a jewelry party tomorrow and I think like 3 people are coming…I wish I knew more people here 🙁  Nobody’s coming waaaah!  Maybe I’m just not that exciting?

Your Invited : To Our Wedding

Today is our 10 year anniversary
I couldn’t imagine spending this life with anyone other than Terence.  He is my best friend, the best hubby, Daddy, love & companion throughout life.  I don’t know what I would do without you babe.  For realz.  You cannot ever leave me….I love you & couldn’t make it without you!  I’m so proud of you and the man you are…God has truly blessed me with you for my husband.  I look forward to sharing the next 50 + years together baby! Love Forever & Always, Becky
I thought it would be fun to share some of our wedding photos with everyone.  It brings back so many memories.  These are all scanned photos…because 10 years ago digital photography wasn’t all that great yet! LOL!  Now that makes me feel old just saying that!  The quality of the pictures isn’t fab, but you get the idea 🙂

Dad sang “Butterfly Kisses” before he walked me down the isle.  My Dad has the most loving heart and it meant the world to me.  The tissues were flying!  It seemed like an eternity standing there while he sang, but it’s one of the best memories I have of that day.

30th Birthday – Part 2

Friday after I got off work Terence, Connor, & I drove to Arkansas….all night long…
“All night long (all night), All night (all night)
All night long (all night), All night (all night)
All night long (all night), All night (all night)
All night long! (all night), Ooh, yeah (all night)”

Oops!  Sorry got a little carried away there channeling my inner Lionel Richie!

Anyway-  We drove a lot.  We arrived at our BFF Kristin & Nate’s house late that night and spent the night Friday & all Saturday with them.  They have three wild, yet precious kiddos. Oh how I miss those kids!  I miss all our friends and family back home.  Every time we go home and visit I am reminded of how much I miss everything.  I go see my friends who are begging me to come back.  I visit old places I used to work and they are constantly reminding me if I ever did decide to move back I would always have a job if I needed it.  It’s nice to know these things and to feel missed and loved by people.  It’s nice to know they think of me too…..

Saturday we saw the Hangover II (hilarious!).  We also went out for dinner and drinks at Ya Ya’s in Little Rock.  They had a live band and the weather was perfect.  We just sat, relaxed, and listened to music while we ate.  I dropped Connor off with my parents before the movie and it was nice to have an adult night out.

Before we left we met up at Starbucks….here is Kristin with all the kids!
I also got forced her to pose with her Starbucks 🙂
Oh-Here is a pic my Mom took!  She took me shopping on my birthday and I got some really cute clothes!
And we all got pedicures – Me, Nannie, Mom, & Aunt Karli
Ahhhhh…..relaxation indeed.
Okay-back to our visit with the Sullivan’s
Here is Miss Abby showing Aunt Becky her tapping skillz!
Isn’t she the cutest thing ever?
Brayden…I can’t believe he will be 9 this year!

Connor is saying “Whaaaaat????”
I don’t want to leave Momma!!!!

Of course you know there were several trips to Starbucks!!! Duh!
Gotta stay awake on these long road trips.
Kristin and I at Ya Ya’s for dinner
Don’t ask me what that blue concoction is in my glass…I wasn’t crazy about it….

Connor was entertained by Elmo & also watched some Elmo’s World on the DVD player in the car 🙂

I also had the pleasure of meeting up with Niki and Leah.  Two of the fabulous bloggers I met up with at the Dallas Blogger Meet up.  Those two girls are great and I love them 🙂

Niki gave the cutest card with owls on it and some Starbucks love.  Thank you Niki!!!

I also recently participated in a Summer Blog Swap!  My partner was Jaimie and she did a great job getting me all the summer essentials!  Thank you Jaimie I LOVE all my goodies!  She even sent a little something for Connor too 🙂

(I got Jamie one of these flower dish scrubbers…and I couldn’t resist & got one for myself)

Happy Weekend Everyone!!!

Mother’s Day 2011

I had a great Mother’s Day this year!  I remember last year how sleep deprived I was with a new baby and this year I got to sleep in until 11:00 am!!!  Thanks Terence for letting me get some much needed sleep!  The best gift ever….in my opinion….
Our weekend was very laid back & we spent time together enjoying the nice weather & running around town.  Terence is in the process of turning my dining room into a home office so we’ve got parts all around the living room we are trying to keep Connor out of.  I’ll show the finished product when we get it all set up on the blog.  Terence stepped on a piece of the desk he’s been building and we had to order another piece to it….oops!
I am so thankful for my Mom, Mother in law, and all the other women in my family who are motherly role models.  What would we do without them? I’m so thankful for all of YOU!
So here is a re-cap of our weekend 🙂
It’s so hard to get him to look at the camera these days!
He loved riding this whale

My booger – 14 months

Seems like we end up at the park every weekend these days….

I just love how when I holler for him to “come here” he runs the other direction now…..

My picky eater actually LOVED some corn. It’s like pulling teeth sometimes to get the kiddo to eat.

So I have to give the hubby wubby some props.  He did do good this year 🙂  He was going to get me some jewelry with Connor’s birthstone in it….but honestly I’d rather save the money and buy things we need for the house right now.  His birthstone is aquamarine, and I know someday I’ll get something with aquamarine in it! However, I did want a particular candle from Williams Sonoma & some Godiva chocolate!

This fleur de sel smells A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!
So fresh and clean!
Connor and I at the mall with Godiva in tow….
We also played at the play area in the mall.  Connor loved it, but it was crowded!
Also-BOTH Saturday & Sunday Terence went and got Momma a Starbucks 🙂
Thanks babe!  I love you & I couldn’t do this parenting gig without ya!
I hope everyone had a great Mother’s Day as well!
Whether you are a Mom or not remember you are a mother role model for someone out there!
And I am praying daily for all of you out there longing to for motherhood….it’s the best, most challenging, and life changing experience I’ve had thus far….and I wouldn’t change it for anything!  I believe if God puts the desire in your heart then he will fulfil that desire someday, somehow, I believe it!
Love yuns!
Becky

Testimony of a New Mom

Time…..time is flying by so fast.

Oh how my world has changed these past few months!
Connor, your Daddy and I love you with all our hearts. I’ve waited for you so long my son. I’ve dreamed about you so many nights. I look into your eyes each day and feel overwhelmed with love and emotion. It’s going to be hard to see you grow up and make mistakes or get your first boo boo. I know these moments are just part of growing up. It seems like lately you’ve been growing up so quickly right before our eyes……

You make me want to be a better person. I’ve thought a lot lately about what kind of parent I want to be…..I know sometimes I will have to be strict on you or discipline you for something you’ve done wrong. Right now I just want to hold you and comfort you. I want to put you in a bubble so nothing can ever hurt you or sway you in the wrong direction. I want to be a Godly example in your life. I’ve felt convicted lately that I am not the Godly person I should be or want to be. I will work on that…I’ll be better for me and for you…and for Daddy too……
Your Daddy is my best friend, he holds my heart…and now so do you! He supported me throughout my pregnancy when I was uncomfortable and sick. He helped me put my socks on when I could no longer reach my feet. Your Daddy makes me laugh and smile each day. He encouraged me when I thought I couldn’t breast feed you and wanted to give up! He pushes me to be a better person in life and a better Mommy for you. We both want to be Godly examples for you my son. Without God we would not have you in our lives and in our hearts. You are our precious gift 🙂

I am not perfect by any means and can only strive each day to be a better person. It’s because of God, our loving family, and friends that we have the life we have today. We are so blessed and this short time on earth is only temporary. My love for you will never be temporary….I know there will be times I am exhausted and don’t know what to do with you….but my love will be eternal for you my son.

Your goofy faces make me smile all the time…..

I wonder what you are thinking at times???
You are taking in this new world each day and it’s so amazing to see you learn and grow. You stare at everything like it’s brand new and wonderful and exciting. The little tiny things in life that seem so minuscule to everyone else excite you most of all!
The sleepless nights have been challenging and so have the long days. You are worth every second of that time! Mommy doesn’t have time to do everything she once did….I often wonder if all this blogging, twittering, facebooking is all that important anymore. I love to keep this blog, not for myself, but for you my son…..so that someday you can look back and remember all these things about your crazy Momma!

You are my angel boy…..my gift from above
“I love my Connor boy
You feel my heart with joy
You’re my gift from God above
You fill my heart with so much love”
I repeat that to you every morning…….
You light up my life….my sweet Connor boy 🙂

So Blessed

He looks just like his daddy 🙂

Here are a few more pictures of Connor’s birthday. I am overwhelmed right now and so happy he is here and safe and healthy. God has given us the greatest gift and we are so thankful. Last night was quite challenging, we both didn’t get any sleep…but it’s all worth it! I’m still in recovery for the c section and things are slowly improving, the hardest thing is not being able to take care of my baby without assistance and getting up and down. I know it will get better though. Breastfeeding has been a challenge too, but it’s also getting a lot better as the days go by and Connor is a big ole boy so he’s always hungry! I’ll update again soon as we get settled….thank you all for your prayers and comments! Much love, Becky

Christmas 2009

It’s been quite an eventful Christmas season so far! We went from thinking nobody was going to be here this Christmas from my side of the family…remember my Mom and Dad were supposed to come visit this weekend….then Bonnie had baby Jarrett all of a sudden….and then Dad decided to still drive to Texas to visit in a freak snow storm on Thursday night! We were able to Skype with Bonnie, my Mom, and Nannie last night and she put Jarrett in front of the computer. He is so precious and he’s our little Christmas baby 🙂

It’s been great having Dad here so far and I’m so thankful he made it here okay. We spent yesterday at Terence’s parents house and had a wonderful time there as always! We are both so blessed to have such wonderful parents. Today we’ve been running around and Terence and I got a Costco card (for the mother load of diapers we will be buying this next year!)

Tonight we are going to another Christmas party and tomorrow my Mom and Nannie will fly into Dallas and are going to stay over night here. I’m so excited they will all be stopping by, even for just a little bit and it’s exciting to have our first house guests! I know it’s going to be hard for my Mom to leave Vegas and the baby behind. She will be doing this again in a couple of months though! ahh! She will have to rack up those frequent flying miles I guess! Hope you all had a very Merry Christmas!
