Romantical Weekend

Terence and I had a wonderful anniversary weekend!  T’s parents watched Connor on Friday night so we could spend some time together.  On Friday we went to one of our favorite Mexican restaurants called Anejo and also saw the “Rise of the Planet of the Apes”.  It was a good movie! 
On Friday Terence sent me these beautiful flowers to work 🙂
 On Saturday we slept in until around 10 am!!!! OMG!!!  That is craziness!!!!
We finally got around and headed out to Dallas for the day.  Of course we stopped for our Starbucks…
FYI – Tomorrow I have something special in store for all you Starbucks lovers!!!  May include some FREE Starbucks for LOTS of you  *wink* *wink* 
I have a confession to make :  I took back my IPad.
I was barely using it.  I found myself gravitating towards my desktop computer & I came home each day and never even picked it up.  I guess I had envisioned using it a whole lot more, but come to find out it wasn’t really something I needed….or wanted to keep.  It was nice and has lots of bells and whistles.  But in the end…I just didn’t want it (am I a weirdo???)
So….Terence took me shopping instead.  Because I am a difficult person to find things for!  Poor dude.  I felt bad for taking back the IPad, but in the end I think it’s a better decision.  And a cheaper one 😉
I did however find a purse I loved, so I got this one!  It’s my favorite color green & it’s HUGE 🙂
Also found this 3 tiered serving stand at Sur La Table for $10 bucks!  I am so excited about it!  It was marked down to $20 + I got a coupon in the mail for $10 off a purchase = SCORE!
I also got two new winter coats and some other stuff!  Thanks babe for shopping with me!  We saw yet another movie and then had a late lunch at the Cheesecake Factory and engorged on some Godiva Cheesecake.  And now I must start a diet….all my pants are tight and I’m just over it.  I have got to do something and make a life change.  I love food, but it’s not worth it.  I’m tired all the time and I don’t feel good about myself right now.  I cannot wait to get my Erin Condren planner in!  I really need to get organized and start menu planning.  My biggest struggle is not knowing what to cook & I come home every night exhausted after work and end up throwing in a pizza or something quick in the oven.  Well, this is a whole other blog post in itself…..

Love Story Chapter Two

Love story continued…..

So after that first kiss the whirlwind romance started. Terence asked me out that weekend and we had our first official date at Chuck E Cheese & The Olive Garden. I have no clue why we chose to go to Chuck E Cheese, but I do remember we had a blast and Terence is awesome at ski ball! I drove that night and somehow turned the wrong way down the street with oncoming traffic. Oops! I didn’t scare him off thank goodness! Ha…ha…

He dropped me off that night and I remember thinking what a wonderful time I had. Yes, Terence wasn’t my usual type….but he had a way of getting me to open up to him about things I had never told any other guy before. Needless to say that entire summer we were inseparable. We spent every day and evening together. We were so much in love. I’d like to say I “knew” he was the one from the first date, but I didn’t, I think I knew after the first month though.

I remember our first Valentine’s Day like it was yesterday. We had only been dating about a month. Terence had just sold his beloved Camaro & his only means of transportation. He had fallen behind on payments and wasn’t being responsible, so it had to be sold. I picked him up that night and as I turned the corner I saw him standing there in his blue jeans and plaid shirt holding three roses. The sweetest memory ever. Even if he didn’t have a car anymore (sigh) I had already fallen for him….hard. You know how it is at 18 years old….we had a case of puppy love.

He had several sweet friends in college…ahem…Ashley….who let him borrow their car to come see me. I also picked him up if he needed to go somewhere, but that was okay because we were together most of the time anyway. A few months down the road Terence bought me a promise ring. I was so excited and proud to show it off! We knew we were in love and wanted to get married…..eventually….but we were still very young.

We both finished the first year of college. When I say finish I mean we were barely hanging in there. Both of us had let our studies slide. All those late night make out sessions and phone calls took their toll. Don’t get the wrong idea…we weren’t shacking up or anything! Basically we both had to make major changes if we wanted to stay in school & stay together.

Terence chose to stay with me in Arkansas that summer and decided not to return home to Texas. He got an apartment with my best friend’s boyfriend & worked several blue collar jobs that summer. By the end of the summer Terence had to make a decision on what to do with his life. His grades weren’t good enough to maintain his scholarship for school & he hated the jobs he was working……

So he made a decision, a life changing one, he decided to join the Air Force.

In the fall of 2000 Terence enlisted in the military and we began a long distance relationship….it would be one of the most challenging times we would encounter in our relationship, but it was also a major stepping stone so we could begin our lives together.

Our Trip Home

Connor & I had a great trip home!  It was short but sweet.  The plane ride there was not too bad considering it was after 10 pm when we landed.  He only spazzed the last 10 minutes or so.  Of course that was right after a guy told me how good my kid was behaving….of course. 
We landed and Nana & Poppy couldn’t wait to get their hands on Connor!  We woke up early the next day and got ready to go to the farm.  My Dad brought some Stoby‘s home for lunch-YUMMY!  After we ate lunch we headed to see Nannie aka Great Grandma 🙂

We had the BEST time and can’t wait to come home again soon!
The flight home was a WHOLE other story…he cried almost the entire flight 🙁  I was mortified and frazzled.  But, like Terence said I’ll probably never see those people again.  I sure hope not because I am sure they hated me! 😛  Oh well what can ya do? 
It was all worth it!  I love you all to pieces and I’m so blessed to have such a wonderful family!

Connor did pretty good on the plane, it was past 10 p.m. when we got to AR and the last 15 mins he had a melt down, but other than that he did good!  We also got to spend a day at Nannie & Papa’s farm….oh how I miss home!
The last time we flew was at Christmas…look how much he’s grown in just half a year!
