Watcha Been Up To?

This past weekend Terence, Connor, & I all attended Kylon’s 2nd birthday party.  His Mommy Amber did such a great job decorating.  He had a sports themed party and I thought it turned out great 🙂  Ky got so many cute gifts from friends and family. He also got an awesome swing set.  I’ve been looking at swing sets for Connor lately too because I know when the summer comes he’s going to want to play outside!  CSN, as we all know had a great selection of all kinds of products, I found outdoor swing sets, pools, and even trampolines!

Cupcakes…mmmmm….

IN OTHER WEEKEND NEWS…
Terence and I also went to the Fort Worth Stock Show.  Every now and then I have the opportunity to take pictures of kids for the bank I work at in front of our buffalo mascot.  I forgot to take any good pictures of the buffalo!  Shame on ME!  I will next weekend though because hopefully they are going to bring the new baby buffalo “Tuffy” out and I’m so excited!
Here our lovely Aunt Loyce is watching Connor while we were at the Stock Show 🙂
He loves his Auntie Loyce
Connor definitely has my crazy hair…this is what he looks like first thing in the mornings….isn’t it funny!

I DID get this one picture with my cell phone at the Stock Show.  Right next to our location was this GIANT…I mean GIANT burrito stand.  They have a 7 ft by 7 ft cast iron skillet and they make giant burritos on it.  We kept smelling the goodness in the air while we were working our corner so we just HAD to go get one after we were done….and they did not disappoint.  They were delicious…so delicious I may just have to get another one next Saturday!

On Sunday Terence and I worked the 2 year old room at church and then came home and relaxed.  That evening we had family dinner with his family and got to see baby Alicia again.  We both had Monday off and I made this for dinner….

Terence loves that zuppa toscana soup from the Olive Garden.  I found this recipe on Tasty Kitchen and it turned out great!  I hope you all are having a great week!  Two more days until Friday ya’ll!

Precious Girl

Last night Terence, Connor, and I finally got to meet our new niece/cousin Alisha!
 She is so beautiful!!!

Here is the little angel sleeping.  I can’t even remember Connor being this tiny???  Isn’t it crazy how fast time flies and how quickly you forget little things?  She was just adorable and so cuddly 🙂

Kim, Connor, Terence, & Alisha
I don’t think Connor knew what to think of her…ha..ha..
He just kept looking at her like she was a toy or something.  We kept saying “gentle” “gentle”
because he wanted to touch her.  We had a good visit and brought Kim & Kevin some Chili’s for dinner.  I was going to cook them dinner, but we had a lot of things going on yesterday so we just picked something up.  They were probably better off that way because my cooking is not that great anyway!  We love ya’ll and so happy for you and baby Alisha is beautiful!!!

Party Planning on the Cheap

I thought I would share with you some of the party decor I’ve found.  I know I am severely early in planning all this, but I like to have time and pace myself, plus I enjoy having something to work on and craft with in my free time…whenever that is! ha..ha..

Most of the things I have found are in the $1 bin at craft stores.  I’ve shopped at Michael’s, Jo Ann Fabrics, Hobby Lobby, or Target.  It may not be birthday related, but it can fit into your theme if you are creative 😉

I found these owls on a stick in the $1 bin.  They were a paint on craft for kids.  Underneath it has Valentines stuff and I just painted over that with brown metallic paint.  I think I am going to wrap balloons around these and stick them in the yard along the sidewalk the day of the party.  They aren’t perfect….but still cute!
This ribbon was so cute…for $2 you can’t beat that!

I cut these owls freehand and I’m going to hang some and place the others around different places.  They are so cute and easy to make.  All you have to buy is paper 🙂

I found these little wooden trees.  Again, they were Valentine themed and had hearts all over them.  I just painted them brown.  They were $2 and I am going to hang the smaller owls in the picture above from the branches.

He is loving Cheerios right now.  I have been thinking of trying to start him on some regular milk soon, but not so sure about that???  I’m just nervous on how he will do.  When did ya’ll start on regular milk vs breast milk/formula???
Terence and I have a lot going on this weekend and I’m so thankful for an extra day off!  Woohoo!!!  We are working the Fort Worth Stock Show for the bank.  I’m sure I’ll have some pictures of us with the buffalo…he’s the nicest buffalo you’ll ever run across and I’m excited to see our friends Bree, Nathan, & Suzie again 🙂

Big Apple Bound

I’m so excited because in exactly 71 days Ter-Bear and I will be going to New York!  We are visiting with Summer & Adam.  I feel like Summer and I should have met YEARS ago and I am so excited it’s finally going to happen!  Woohoo!
While there we are going to do all the touristy things as well as celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary a little early.  We got married in August (which also happens to be the hottest month known to man) so to enjoy NY at nicer temperatures we are going in March.  My Mom will be coming to take care of baby C so Terence and I can enjoy some time together 🙂
It’s always nice to have something to look forward to….

A couple weeks ago I got home from work and these were sitting on the kitchen counter…..

Long story short, I have wanted a pair of Uggs for years and never gotten any.  I just haven’t been able to justify buying them living in Texas and all.  I do love them and they are SO warm and comfy!  I don’t even notice I am not wearing a sock!  Thank you babe, that was so sweet of you!

Dinner time.  It’s always a struggle for me.  I’ve been looking on the Internet for one pot meals and things like that so I won’t be so stressed out when I come home from work.  “What’s for dinner?”  That is the never ending question!!!  I am tired of frozen pizzas and we are trying to eat better….as long as we get a protein and a veggie in I am good with that.  I do like those steam veggies.  There are only so many ways I can cook chicken though!  HELP!  Do you have a suggestion for a quick easy one pot meal or casserole?

See that beautiful plate above?  The one with the chicken and asparagus???
I didn’t cook a THING on it…it came from the store…but it sure was good!
Too pricey to have every night though!

I can’t believe we are already half way through January!  Where has the time gone?  Where has this baby gone???

I love you my boo….you fill my heart every day.  Don’t grow up to fast now!
Thank you Lord for this precious baby 🙂

First Snow

Connor boy experienced his first snow this weekend!  We woke up yesterday morning and it was snowing outside, unfortunately it didn’t stick so we still had work and schools open today.  I heard from my Mom in AR they cancelled school and she had a snow day.  No FAIR!
His face was precious.  He was like “What is this white stuff Momma?”

So yesterday we built a fire and watched Everest on Discovery Channel.  I made chocolate chip pancakes and bacon for breakfast too 🙂  That show is CRAZY you guys!  I would not survive an hour on that mountain.  The lack of oxygen and the mental determination you need would kill me.  Terence wants to climb Mt. Rainier  with a friend and that is making me nervous 😛

Terence and Connor looked so cute yesterday sleeping I ran and grabbed the camera and snapped this picture.  I love them 🙂

Look who is showing off his bottom teeth!  Connor has been feeling a lot better over the past weekend…thank you Lord!  He has been a whole new baby.  I think the combo of him being sick and teething just wore him out.

He has crazy bed head

He was sitting there watching me cook breakfast yesterday.  He loves to sit in the kitchen with me while cooking.  It’s such a trip…he just wants to be involved in EVERYTHING right now!

I hope you all enjoyed your snow days too!  I know a lot of folks across the country got snow this weekend…a LOT more than we did!  Let it snow! Let it snow! Let it SNOW!  I am definitely a winter gal 🙂

Happy Weekend :)

This is how Connor rolls…just sayin…
Thank you Nana & Poppy!
OMG.  This cake.  I DIE.
I don’t think we’ll be getting a cake this extravagant but I just wanted to show it.  It’s amazing!  I wish my Summer was her so she could make Connor boy a cake 🙂
Happy Weekend Ya’ll!!!
P.S. Thanks for all the fab party ideas… they are great! You all rock!

Party Planning

So Connor’s first birthday is coming up in less than 2 months so I’ve started to plan a bit.  Knowing me and my OCD self I didn’t want to wait until the last minute and have a bunch of stuff to do.  As I mentioned before we are doing a “Look Whooo’s One” theme.  I want to do owl/woodland type decorations.  This is probably one of the only years where I will get to choose the theme and be creative so I am taking advantage of it!  Next year it may be cars, a Disney movie, or Elmo!

This is what I have so far:

  • A blingy tablecloth cover
  • I made some of those tissue paper pom poms.  They are a cheap and cute way to decorate.  Some of the ones I made look better than others 😛
  • I am going to do a small candy buffet.  I’ve always loved these, but have never done one.  I don’t know where a good place is to buy candy to put in them?  The colors are orange, green, blue, and brown.

I’ve also started making a birthday banner.  This project has been every time consuming!  I just cut the letters out freehand and they seem more playful that way.  I can’t wait to show you the finished product and I hope it turns out decent!

I found these “Connor” balloons and confetti at Party City and thought that was so cute!  I also found these cute birthday labels I think I am going to use for the candy jars. I’m not using the pink ones though!

I also bought the stickers above, I don’t know what for yet?  I want to get Connor a birthday shirt similar to the one in the photo too.  I also need a cake/cupcake stand of some sort and I just LOVE that owl candle I found on Etsy 🙂
My little booger is getting so BIG!  He likes to sit in the bumbo while I am cooking dinner 🙂
He has been a MESS this week…probably because he’s been sick and I think he is cutting another tooth.  He is so congested and has been coughing a lot.  I just wish he could blow his own nose 😛
So – ANY PARTY IDEAS ARE WELCOME!
I NEED ALL THE HELP I CAN GET YOU GUYS!!!
xoxo Becky
