Friday Favorites Linkup: Where are you From?

rp_11998020_10207660599900993_861431880_n-750x750.jpg

One of the great things about blogging is meeting people outside of your community.  People from all over the world.  I really enjoy hearing about all of your home towns and where you are from!  One of the fabulous people who I’ve met through blogging is KIM!  She’s also my hostess with the mostess for this link-up.  Join in won’t ya?

So, here’s ME:

I’m currently living in DFW Texas.  I consider myself “from” Arkansas.  We moved to AR when I was in the 3rd grade and I lived there until my husband finished college.  I love Texas, but I miss Arkansas so many days too.  I miss my family and friends every single day.  It’s fun to venture out some place new, but there is nothing like family.

Friday Flashback:

Terence and I at the Fort Worth Water Gardens.  This is also the place he proposed to me later on.  We were probably around 18-19 years old and this was my first trip to visit his hometown 🙂  Little did I know we would end up here years down the road and settling down.

So, where are you from and what’s something you love about your hometown?

Another random thing…have any of you tried Rocksbox yet?  I tried it because why not…the first box is FREE!  I loved what I got in it.  You basically go online and fill out a profile on what kind of jewelry you like and they send you 3 pieces that fit your style.  I loved my first box.  I got a necklace, earrings, and beautiful cuff bracelet.  You can return them at any time too!

Friday Favorites Linkup: Fall Edition

Okay first off let me just say these past couple of weeks have been cray cray.  I know I’m always saying that but darn it….life is CRAZY!  Connor missed 4 days of school last week.  He came home Monday from school with over 103 degree fever.  Two Doctor visits later and we finally got a diagnosis after a blood test of pneumonia.  Thankfully he’s back at school this week and things are somewhat normal.

Okay, so gals you know I love to share my favorites with you all.  My lovely friend Kim and I are starting a link-up every Friday called “Friday Favorites”.  You can share what you’ve been crushing on lately.  I love to hear about what you are thinking too 🙂

This week’s theme is FALL!!!

What are some of your fall favorites.  Thank your LORD that tomorrow has a high of 83….please oh please let the weatherman be right for once.

Beanies.  I love me some beanies in the fall….they are perfect for those days when you just don’t want to fix your hair and just throw it on and go.  And you still look half way cute….right?

IMAG0642

Boo at the Zoo.  Yes, it’s full of wild hoodlum children, but there is just something about getting out among the community and being a part of a fall event.
october-35

The Goldbergs.  My favorite TV show.  I love Beverly and can’t wait for all my fall shows to come back on.  I can’t wait to see what Beverly does to embarrass her kids and what she’s scheming this season 😉1541

School supplies.  I love everything related to back to school and I could spend hours looking at all the different pens, pencils, and notepads.  I may have a slight stationary/pen addiction….BBP_5771

These labels are from Mabel’s Label’s and we adore them.BBP_5767

I have the need to washi everything.  I love this pumpkin washi tape from Silent Poetry Arts.  Also, love pumpkin spice lattes, but here in TX I’m still enjoying my iced esspresso.BBP_6940

My friend Ellen came to visit me and introduced me to Charlotte Tilbury makeup.  Oh my gosh y’all I’m in LOVE with this gold cream eye shadow.  It doesn’t feel like a cream, it isn’t sticky.  It’s a great shadow and perfect for fall!

Halloween costumes.  Connor tried on this dinosaur at Pottery Barn Kids. Sooooo cute!

Love With Food: Healthy Snacks Delivered Right to Your Door

This post is sponsored by Love with Food.  All opinions are my own.BBP_6435

This week has been cray cray!  Last week we started school and Connor LOOOOVES it.  He lost his first tooth last week and then yesterday he came home with over 103 degree fever.  School has officially started and those germy kiddos are out to play 🙂

Anyway, what I’m saying is life is stressful and I was just talking to Connors pediatrician today about all the junk that we give kids and what are some things I can pack for lunches that aren’t full of dyes, high fructose corn syrup, & sodium.  I recently discovered Love With Food.  It’s a subscription service that contains all organic or all-natural snacks delivered to your door every month. The membership starts as low as $7.99 a month. (I think I can handle something that is less than two lattes).BBP_6428
Every month, Love With Food members will receive a curated box of unique, hard-to-find tasty snacks which varies based on seasonal themes.  BONUSFor every box sold, we donate a meal to several food banks such as the Feeding America Network and Share Our Strength – No Kid Hungry.

I love getting things in the mail and I get so excited about what’s in boxes.  This was super fun to open and it definitely beats running around the grocery store like a chicken with it’s head cut off.

Ingredients in the box

To date, Love with Food has donated almost 700,000 meals to food banks all across America. Click here to find out where we’ve donated in your state.

Just look and all this goodness packed in that red box.  There were some fabulous coupons included too 🙂

Most importantly we have some great snacks around the house for the people I love the most, all while doing something good in return.

School Lunch Made Easy: Pearls Olives To Go!

This review is sponsored by Pearls Olives to Go!  All opinions are my own.

It’s FRIDAY!  This has been the longest week…maybe it’s because it’s the first week of school and it’s been packed full of new things.  Getting up earlier, making sure everyone is dressed, and packing school lunches.

I’m not the best cook and I’m not one of those Mom’s who makes cute little characters out of bread, or cuts shapes out of fruit and things like that.  I took Connor shopping with me to help pick out foods for his lunch box.  I was looking for things that were healthy, easy to pack, and on-the go type foods.

We found lots of stuff, but something new caught my eye 🙂

If you haven’t seen this product on the shelves at your local grocer you probably will soon!  It’s called Pearls Olives to Go!  Now you can have olives without the mess!

BBP_6628

Pearls Olives to Go!, brought to you by Musco Family Olive Co., the leading branded supplier of table olives in America, is now in grocery stores nationwide as well as Target and Walmart. These single-serving, liquid-free cups are filled with delicious California-grown large pitted black ripe olives.

Pearls Olives to Go! grew even more popular with three new varieties in 2014: Green Pimiento Stuffed, Kalamata and Sliced Black Olives.

Each package contains four cups, which are very similar to fruit snack cups but without the liquid mess. These easy-to-open cups stay fresh and tightly sealed until you’re ready to use them – so that you can enjoy a snack.

BBP_6630

All Pearls Olives to Go! flavors are gluten-free, dairy-free, sugar-free, cholesterol-free, trans-fatfree, GMO-free, vegan and Kosher.  They are perfect for packing in lunch boxes, picnics, or camping trips.

The Tooth Fairy is Visiting Texas! #LoneStarEggs

This post is sponsored by Lonestar Eggs.  All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Guess what happened today…

Connor lost his first tooth!

BBP_6309

He’s so excited for the tooth-fairy to visit tonight.  This week has certainly been a week of firsts.  First day of Kindergarten and now his first lost tooth.  The TIME fairy needs to slow down!

It’s been craziness getting into our new routine.  We get up extra early and shower, get dressed, and then try to get all our stuff together for the day.  The one thing I never want Connor to go without is a good breakfast in the morning.  Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. It affects everything from memory to creativity in the classroom. Children who go hungry become more distracted from learning at school, or give up more easily when faced with challenges.

Healthy breakfasts are best for your child and important to make a priority every day.  Here in Texas I know we have some pride, believe me when we first moved here I definitely noticed it.  This morning we had breakfast including Lone Star Eggs.  I try to make breakfast fun and I love to support local food sources.

The hens that lay these eggs are Texans themselves & available in Texas Walmart stores.  Find your local Walmart HERE.

BBP_6424Have and EGG-CELLENT week friends & don’t forget to eat BREAKFAST!
