Fall Happenings and Such

This past weekend I went a little fall crazy.  I bought some things at HomeGoods for amazing prices 🙂
Including the little sticks there and the candy bowl sign.  I also love the glitter pumpkin!
The printable is from Pinterest-you can find those by searching “Fall Subway Art”.
Amber was my partner in crime.  Let me tell you shopping with 3 kiddos is crazy town!
We had a fun day though!
Of course we started off with some coffee crack and we were good to go!!!
Woohoo!
Love you Amber!!!!
My boo boo!
The blanket must go everywhere!
I mean EVERYWHERE.
Loving my sweet cinnamon pumpkin candle
Even if it doesn’t feel like fall outside yet-at least it does in my kitchen!
This train set was the best investment ever.  He has so much fun playing with it….and destroying it.  Regardless, we’ve had hours of fun playing trains.
Hope you all have a blessed day!!!!

Things That Make You Go ???

  • Connor said he feet hurt the other day.  After he told me for the third time I finally looked down and noticed I put his shoes on the wrong feet???

  • Terence taking us out on a family hike today in 100+ degree temps.  I literally had to crawl back to the car.  I thought I was going TO.DIE.

  • Braum’s new nacho cheeseburger.  Ewe.

  • There was a kid on our hiking trip with jeans and a jacket on…how in the world is he alive???

  • Connor won’t say hi to our friends and family when we ask him to, but he will say hi to every random stranger on the street or in a store.  Including the homeless man on the street corner smoking a cig.

  • You know it’s time for a haircut when someone tells you how beautiful SHE is….meaning your son.

  • I was so bored this weekend I watched Real Housewives of New Jersey.  Now I feel 95% more stupid.  Why are the Manzo’s trying to market black water??? Weird.
Anyway….I don’t wanna go back to work tomorrow Mama!!!!! Waaaaahhhhh!!!!

We’ve been having a blast just chilling this weekend as a fam.  I love my boys 🙂

Bible Songs to Sing with your Kids

My sister in law is awesome.  She’s started a great pre-school program with Connor and my niece Ellie.  She’s got a gift with children and we are so blessed to have her and the rest of the fam as influences in Connor’s life.
She found some songs that are easy and simple to sing if you have kids around Connor’s age.
Connor loves them.  We sing songs on the way to work every morning 🙂
Song: Do You Know Who Made The World?
(Tune: Do You Know The Muffin Man?)
Do you know who made the day (night, sky, water),

Made the day (night, sky, water), made the day (night, sky, water),

Do you know who made the day (night, sky, water)?

It was God who made the day (night, sky, water).

Verse Song
(Tune: Are You Sleeping?)
In the beginning, (2x)

God created (2x)

The heavens and the earth. (2x)

Genesis 1:1 (2x)

 Song: Seven Days of Creation

(Tune: Doe, A Deer)
One: the light from dark was made,

Two: the clouds and waters part,

Three: the sea, the land and plants,

Four: the sun, the moon, the stars,

Five: the fish and the birds,

Six: the animals and the man,

Seven: God rested, all was good:

His creation and His plan!

We also found the neighborhood cat the other night on a walk around the neighborhood.
Connor loved it! Ha ha!  He kept saying “meow” “meow”
I guess he was trying to speak cat to the cat 🙂
Hope you all are having a great week!

Weekend Update {Fall Ready}

1.  This post title reminds me of Saturday Night Live.
2.  We didn’t do much this weekend but live like bears in a cave.  Connor’s fever finally FINALLY went down and I’m able to be back at work today!  Thank you Jesus!
3.  Having a sick kid at home is so draining.  The whining and crying and just seeing your child sick is awful.  It’s emotionally draining and tiring…cuddly….but tiring.
4.  I was able to at least go to Target and get some groceries and do some laundry.
5.  We watched Despicable Me at least 5 times….such a cute movie.
6.  I put out some of our fall decor.  I am so ready!  I lit some pumpkin spice candles and I just felt better all of a sudden???  Bath and Body Works has the best candles evah!
7.  HomeGoods just opened up around the corner….this is probably not a good thing for my wallet.
Connor is so excited about FALL can you tell???
Pumpkin table thingy from Pier One last year
Wrote a fall message on our chalkboard….I know I don’t have the best handwriting, but I try!
My little owls are back 🙂
Yummy fall tea
I need to change this up a little:  A fall printable, and a fall saying instead of the LOVE one.
I love bling bling candles
Sicky face…so glad he is on the up and up!
Thank you all for the prayers we felt them!
Hope everyone has a great Monday!!!!
xoxo Becky

Diagnosis

We finally have a diagnosis for Connor boy:  Strep throat.

Ugh.

I’m so glad it’s not west nile….I have to admit I’ve kind of been freaking out about that.  It’s all over the news here and listening to that can be scary.

He was feeling better for a few hours yesterday, but then his fever spiked last night.  Terence took him to the pediatrician today and now he’s on antibiotics.

I took some photos yesterday while I was home with him 🙂

For the few hours he was feeling good….my sweet boy you are growing up way too fast!

We love you!

Sickheads

Woke up this morning and this dude had a very high fever.

What the heck?

Of course the only time I get to be a stay at home mom is when my kid is cranky and whiny and sick!  I just didn’t plan for this today.  Terence started a new job so of course he can’t stay home because he doesn’t have sick leave.  I do enjoy the snuggles though.

We’ve all been dumpy lately.  I’ve had a cough and sinus congestion that just won’t go away.  Terence started hacking up a lung this week too.  (I really can’t stand people who carry spit cups around the house….just saying) It’s been awful.  I’m on my second round of antibiotics and nothing seems to be helping this biz???

All we want is to be a normal functioning family again.  Going through 3 boxes of tissues and crazy amounts of cough syrup a week….I’ve had enough.

Please get better soon.  I’m ready to join the land of the living.

Vacationing with a Two Year Old

We had so much fun at Shrek Fest this past weekend, but let me tell you vacationing with a two year old is crazy town!  Anytime you are away from home and in a new place your child is going to get excited and over stimulated.  That’s just the way it is.
I would suggest bringing lots of snacks.  Hotels are expensive and I’m not buying Connor a $4 beverage everywhere we go.  Also, I know this sounds silly, but a child “leash” is good as well.  Connor tends to run off.  It scares me because there people everywhere!  It makes me feel better knowing I can hang onto him.
If we are going to be in the car for a significant amount of time we bring the DVD player.  That thing is a life saver!  Lots of books and toys are always on hand as well.  We keep a stash of extra diapers and wipes in our car for emergencies.  Don’t forget your child’s favorite lovey or blanket, because they’ll be away from home these items can be comforting to them.
We had such a great trip and I loved seeing the excitement in Connor’s eyes.   It made it all worthwhile.  While some things didn’t go how I had expected, we had a blast!  I am a major planner and our dinner lasted longer than expected so we missed the meet and greet with Shrek.  While you can’t prepare for everything you can try and make life a little easier.  I know we aren’t going to be eating our best while on vacation.  We brought along some Culturelle Kids! Packets.   They help reduce digestive upset, support natural defenses, and provide a solution for digestive discomfort and poor health.

I take probiotics and I was excited to learn that Culturelle Kids! Had one for Connor too!  Probiotics are a great thing to take daily.  Probiotics are good for you microorganisms. They help your body with certain functions especially in the digestive area.  I mix one packet with Connor’s drink and he doesn’t even know it’s in there!  I know I’m giving him something beneficial to his health and that makes me happy.

I hope you all have great summer vacations and enjoy the time with your family and friends because school is right around the corner!

“I was given Culturelle Kids! To try for this post.  All opinions expressed are my own.”
